They are Looking at Me

His long fingers cup the apple of my jaw. They are warm, rough, and masculine. I feel aroused by his touch. Oops! There goes another button. He leans slowly to place a kiss on my forehead while I stand there, paralyzed by his actions.

He has no idea what he just caused. The only person I would take a bullet for is for Papito, Mom and Helena. Yes, love, me. But he just threatened my reputation, and I am not going to let that happen.

"I'll wait for an answer," he says as he pulls back. Without any other surprise, he walks away, his handsome face tainted with a mischievous smile.

Perplexity engulfs me as everything unfolds. As he disappears around the corner, I paint a smile to mask my confusion and hurriedly search for my books.

Have you ever heard the story of Moses? When the water splits into two for everyone to walk through? That's exactly what's happening now. As I walk down the halls, people part ways for me. It's normal. It should be. But knowing that they are all looking at me like that for other reasons sends chills down my spine. I wasn't prepared for any of this.

"Hey Lena," I hear everywhere, to which I respond with my best smile.

As soon as I step into the room, my classmates turn to look at me. Romeo winks from his seat while he pats the one beside him for me to sit. I force a grin as I stroll towards my place.

He appears relaxed and unbothered. Looking cool is supposed to be our specialty but right now, he pissed me off. The feelings I have being near him scare me. I know we shouldn't be this close. Yet, I can't seem to find another way out unless I cross right where he is.

Julissa is sitting three seats behind with Melissa beside her. Again, she gives me a thumbs up to cheer me up.

"Do I scare you?" he whispers in my ear. That is my weakness. Damn you, Romeo.

All the hairs on my body stand up, it feels odd. Is this what I make others feel? It's torture. I find no words to respond to that question. I am scared for what you are doing to me already.

"No, you piss me off," I lie, holding his hand. I squeeze it a bit too tight and I see him wince.

Everyone wants a show and we are here for that.

His grip tightens, I feel butterflies erupt in me. "Good. It's part of the feelings I cause."

His eyes close when he smiles. I can't help but stare at the cute dimple that appears. This is blowing me away.

"My rules," I tell him and turn to the teacher who walked in.
