Soulmates (Yoriichi x Muzan)

Yoriichi made his way to the village, the sun had started setting on his way to the village so it was now darker out, meaning it's much more likely for a demon encounter. Simple really,  but can Yoriichi do it? Yeah, he is psychically strong enough to kill any demon he comes across... but what about mentally? Every demon is linked to Muzan, so if he thinks about it, it's like destroying a piece of his soulmate... is he really able to kill a demon without thinking about his soulmate? He had to be strong, remember why he joined the demon slayer corps. Yes, partially for Uta, but also partially to use the strengths granted to him to protect others who can't protect themselves. What good would Yoriichi be if he didn't use what was granted to him. He couldn't lie, he was definitely a natural born fighter, although training did make him stronger he was still strong enough even without training. Would Yoriichi let countless lives of innocent human beings go to waste because he was too mentally... weak? Countless innocent human lives are already going to waste seeing as if he had killed Muzan the moment he met him, then all the demons would disappear. Who knows how many humans have died by the hands of those beasts from the time he met Muzan to now?

Yoriichi sighed and shook his head, he didn't need to think about all of this right now. Just... no more Muzan, no worrying, no more... no more thinking! He's going weak, soft, fragile, he can't do that just because his soulmate is a demon. Muzan murdered people, Muzan mutated people by turning them into demons, Muzan is a monster. But why can't Yoriichi see that? Was it a glitch in the soulmate system? Every soulmate is supposed to meet each other and create the perfect relationship, that's what the universe does. But Uta never met her real soulmate... so did the soulmate system glitch? Was he really meant to be with Muzan or Uta? Because either way... he loves them... both. Both of them, he loves the both of them. But why? Why did he love Muzan... he didn't quite know the answer to that yet.

"Help! Please!"

That scream... it brought Yoriichi out of his thought's quickly, he hadn't made it to the village yet but he heard a scream from the forest. He unsheathed his katana and ran towards the sound of the scream. Someone was in danger, maybe if he wasn't so focused on his thoughts then he would've been here sooner to stop this from happening. He doesn't even know if the scream was because of the damage from a demon yet, he can't completely blame himself yet. Yoriichi listened closely and heard the sounds of heavy breathing and crying, he was close. He zipped past some trees to make his way to what he saw was a woman crying and holding an injured man in her arms. She spotted Yoriichi and a look of hope flashed through her eyes.

"Please... you have to help him."

Yoriichi carefully sheathed his katana to not alarm the woman into thinking he was going to do harm. "It doesn't look to fatal, it should be okay... what happened."

She sniffled and wiped some tears from her eyes. "A-A man... no... I don't know if it was a man... a demon..."

"You know about demons?" Yoriichi bent down to inspect the man's wound, he pulled out his emergency med-kit from his haori and started working on him.

She nodded as she watched Yoriichi help. "Yes... our village is one of the safest villages to keep demons away, I don't know how one got here though."

"How so? Do you have a guard of demon slayers here?"

"No, our village is one of the only places that grows wisteria trees."

Yoriichi paused, his blood ran cold. Wisteria trees... wisteria trees hold great power when they are planted, no demon can get within ten miles of a wisteria trees direction. And seeing as it is plural there must be at least two wisteria trees in the village. If a demon managed to get this close to the village then...
