Chapter 4

I awoke from my slumber with a jolt from my body, I soon heard my alarm blaring from a distance and my adrenaline soon came down. I quickly shut off the alarm and laid in my bed, why was I up so late? You stared at your roof then finally started to get up. You groaned the entire way getting up, once in a sitting position, you stretched out your body. After such a long day yesterday, you sure regretted walking around the entire mall. Your arms ache from carrying your luggage, and from helping Jane with her bags.

You look over to your dresser to the right of you, and felt warm looking at the Present Mic plushie. A small smile formed into your face and you sighed looking down, shaking your head deciding you were awake enough, you hopped out of the bed. Your feet touched onto your soft carpet, and you winced feeling your feet ache in pain.

You shook off the pain and walked to your bathroom, you twisted the doorknob and pushed the door. Looking behind you, you closed the door and locked the door knob.

Walking over to your shower, you turned the knobs to your favorite temperature, then started to undress. Shuffling into the shower I basked in the warmth, you let out a heavy sigh. You've never felt so grateful that you have a day off tomorrow, you have been so busy with things after work that you never considered your own mental health up until this morning. Oh how you needed a break from everyone, but today was special. It was the day you made a cake for Jane. Her family never really came around to celebrate any holidays, they never came over to celebrate her birthday.

The good friend you are, you wanted to bake her a cake. Now baking is not for everyone but, you wanted Jane to feel special. Being done washing off your body and hair. You placed your feet onto the tile floor, reaching out and grabbing a towel, you wrapped it around your body and grabbed another towel for your hair. You soon hooked your hand onto the door knob unlocking it then twisting it opening the door.

You shuffled the towel into your hair so it would dry faster, looking in between the towel and your arm you stopped and held the towel in your hand dropping it down to your waist.

You took this time to look for your phone, your eyes scanned your surroundings and you started checking off a list in your mind. Dresser next to my bed? No, the floor? Nah, my bed? You walked off to your bed and started shuffling around your blanket. Then you heard a thump on the floor, you winced and rushed over to the noise, and there was your phone. You quickly grabbed it worried about the time, it was only 6:30.

Which mean you have work in 20 minutes

"HUH?!" You yelled out, your voice cracked in your throat from not talking all of this morning.

You ran around your room in a hurry, you grabbed a shirt, your undergarments, socks, and sweats along the way. You were hopping around with one leg trying to put the other side of the pants on. While almost tripping you successfully put on all your clothes and ran out the door with your keys and phone.

The drive to your work was stressful, you indeed made it in time. Walking through the doors you went and clocked yourself in at the back. You let out a huge puff of air out then went around a corner to start your work.

"Have you heard the back-smack of Present Mic?" You said, you and Jane were out during lunch having a picnic out at the park.

"Oh yeah, it's absolutely vile! I can't believe so much hatred is on him." Jane agreed, taking a bite of her burger.

You hummed, the news has been giving new information each day about the insults and rude comments towards Present Mic. This upset you by a lot, and it gave you much empathy for Mic.

"I bet that this problem will soon die down, knowing the world, it's going to soon fade away once everyone gets bored." Jane replied, by now the both of you were done eating and was sitting enjoying the warm air and the beams of sun dancing on your skin.
