Divya's POV
"Excuse me you did what?" Kaden looked at me like I was crazy.
Maybe I was for accepting such proposal... but Elizabeth is even more crazy than I was by putting that offer—like, 1.2 million dollars for pretending six months? She's insane and I would be stupid to let the opportunity pass.
It is work in a way, I would be an actress during it which is in fact a job—working whatever, I will have to make an effort in pretending so, it's not free money, just gained easier than most.
Will me making everyone believe I'm dating a woman make my parents lose their minds? Probably. But it's my life and the outcome will be worthy, I can do so much with that money—finance my own business and help my parents pay off their debts.
It's a win win situation and Elizabeth can be annoying certainly, but she's not a bad person. She actually sent me the contract redacted by her lawyer yesterday after I gave her all my conditions.
"I accepted to be Elizabeth's fake fiancée to piss off her ex and she pays me a million dollar. Easy." I shrugged.
We were laying on my bed as I explained what had transpired a little over two weeks ago during Christmas day.
That day Elizabeth had made take selfies with her and just take random pictures of me so she could post them on her instagram story so when we made our 'relationship' public it would be cohesive.
It was kind of smart from her part.
"Do I get any part in that? Like a friendship bonus... match maker bonus." Kaden said.
I glared at her and swatted her making her laugh. "You get to be the only one to know the big secret, besides you have a rich mom ask her for your allowance you big middle aged baby."
"My mom doesn't give an allowance... she tried for being a deadbeat but I didn't let her—she did pay for my full college." Kaden moved her eyebrows as she thought about her mom.
"Okay, right back to me." I said and Kaden hit me with a pillow on the face.
"You know I was in a similar situation back in high school," she revealed.
"Why am I not surprised."
Knowing how Kaden and her other two friends are I find it very hard to be impressed when they talk about any insanity they did.
Everything they do just seems in character for them... that's not always a good thing because one is crazier than the other. I think Jason and Morgan battle out the first spot and I haven't known them for long.
"That's how Morgan and I started dating when she had a crush on... on Jessie, she wanted to gain her attention somehow so she pretended to date me—didn't end up well, I had already feelings for her and Morgan caught feelings too... just not as much as I did." Kaden seemed to be in deep thought and kind of... sad since she mentioned her ex... situationship? "And Jessie always wants what she can't have."
"Wow... this turned sour really quickly." I chuckled awkwardly.
"Sorry, my point is these things usually don't end up in a good note, but then again I didn't get paid a million dollars for dating Morgan—I just got cheated on." She shrugged.
"Great, well I don't like women so I'm good." I stood from the bed to look at myself in the mirror as I put my curls in a bun. "All I have to do is pretend and piss off her ex-girlfriend—who's already bitter so it will be certainly fun. Do you know her?"
"I don't, but Morgan does... the three of them had a threesome once."
I looked at her, "Oh my god?"
