Elizabeth's POV

Divya was better at this than I had expected her to be. She was fantastic.

So far she had dealt with everyone perfectly—every question they asked had been answered so elegantly that I was in awe of her.

Either had a way with words or was a great liar.

Maybe a bit of both.

"I think I've lost count of the times I've been asked what I do for a living." Divya said as she sipped from her nth glass of champagne of the night—yet she remained sober, she had a better alcohol resistance than I thought... or maybe is the fact we have walked through all the immense mansion ball room all night that kept the alcohol from causing an effect.

"And handled it perfectly every time." I complimented her.

"Yeah well anything is better than saying I'm currently unemployed, they'll think I'm a gold digger." Divya spoke only for me to hear. "Although I can of do feel like one."

I shook my head, "You are the farthest from one darling. Besides you would not even have to dig. I would just give it all to you."

Divya rolled her eyes at that while I just enjoyed getting any reaction out of her. "Ass kisser."

"Only if it's yours." I said—impressed by the fact that it got a laugh out of Divya. Maybe she is slightly drunk.

"Your flirting reminds me of Kaden's." She said as her laughter subsided, we were the only ones in this table and I thanked god for that.

"I'm not flirting, I am simply trying to make you laugh."

"Well you succeeded now what?" Divya leaned on the table and raised a brow at me. I couldn't think clearly, I was too lost staring at her beautiful face. She looked breathtaking tonight with her red Versace dress and the way she had styled her hair, her usual curls had been ironed and she had opted for her hair to be up on a french twist style, some strands of black hair adorning her face.

"Now I'd really like to kiss you but I know that would earn me a slap from you."

"Oh, don't tell me you are too afraid to try that assumption." She taunted me and pouted making me bit my lip.

"Don't test me Divya." I said slowly.

The smirk on her face fell and she sat upright on her chair—grabbing the glass of champagne she drank its remains. I haven't known Divya for a long time, but I have caught on some traits of her one of them being she's not afraid to flirt but recoils when things get serious because of it. She gets scared.

I wonder if she's ever experimented with women before. Doesn't seem like she has.

"What are you thinking about?" Divya asked me.

"Nothing just impressed that we haven't run into Alice again, but I wouldn't count on that not happening tonight." I sighed knowing it will happen, I've caught onto Alice staring at me from across the room several times now—and she never looks away when I catch her, she's evidently pissed off.

"I would love for that to happen." Divya said with enthusiasm.

"You love drama, don't you?"

"You don't even know the half of it." She stood and extended her hand towards me. I —of course— took it willingly and let her drag me through the ball room with her without any objection.

"What are we doing? Not that I am complaining, I rather enjoy being dragged by you."

We suddenly stopped and Divya turned to face me and leaned closer to my ear. "People are dancing over there—I want you to take me dancing and look at me like you love me. Alice and her oh so friendly boyfriend are watching us even though they pretend not to."
