My parents dropped me off at an office building, which I had assumed was Colby's. I still couldn't believe they married me off like that after what I've done for them.

I got out at the dimly lit curb before grabbing a suitcase out of the back. I didn't say a word to them before walking inside and to the front desk.

"I'm looking for Colby Brock?" I asked the lady as she plastered a fake smile.

"Ah you must be the new wife." She stood and walked me down the hall to the elevator.

The halls were empty. Likely due to it being so late.

We entered the elevator, no further conversation to be heard of. She pressed a button leading us up to the tenth floor.

I watched the numbers count up as my heart started to sink. I knew there was no longer a way out.

The doors opened, and the desk lady quickly walked out, leading to the last set of doors at the end of the hallway. She opened them and guided me inside without stepping foot in the room.

I flinched as the doors behind me slammed shut. I looked around. Two couches sat in front of me with a glass table placed in-between. The far wall wasn't even a wall, just a big window. A desk sat in front of it, which Colby had been sitting at.

"Sit." Colby commanded without looking up.

I quickly did as told, watching him in the process. He sighed before standing, taking off his glasses and setting them on the table, before walking over to me.

Colby scoffed as he saw me, taking a seat on the couch across from me. I fidgeted as he watched me. Finally he spoke.

"Here is the key to the house and your wedding ring." He pulled out the objects, setting them on the table.

I grabbed the key sticking it in my pocket before sliding the ring on.

"Give me your phone." He commanded harshly.

I pulled my phone out, handing it to him as he pulled his out. He typed something in his phone, probably my contact information, before handing mine back. He typed again before my phone vibrated.

"I sent you the address, now leave." I was almost in disbelief, but stood and began to leave anyway. "Also if you wanna be seen with me, dress better."

The door slammed shut as I walked out, this time I didn't flinch. I was almost too pissed off to care.

I walked down the hallway and entered the elevator again. As I left the building, I noticed the desk lady wasn't there anymore.

I called for an Uber as I waited outside. I knew Colby wasn't going to give me a ride to the house we now share. Not that I really expected him to either.

The Uber pulled up and I gave him the address Colby had sent to me. I took in the view of the city around us as the driver sped off. It didn't take long to reach the destination, but it seemed like it was much longer.

I handed the driver a ten before getting out, pulling the suitcase with me. I walked up to the house, pulling the key out and inserting it in the doorknob.

I felt empty and numb walking into the house. It was pretty much bare other than the black furniture.

"Strange man.." I mumbled to myself as I searched for my new bedroom.

The room was pretty bare as well minus the bed with black sheets and blankets on it. Nothing else was in sight.

I sighed slightly setting my suitcase in the far corner. I grabbed the medicine bottle out of the front pocket, throwing back one, before laying in bed.

My head ached as my mind raced. Everything became a blur as I thought about how I ended up here.

My eyes closed as I tried to shut it all out. Eventually I passed out.
