I woke the next morning to the smell of bacon. I stretched, trying to shake the pain from the awkward sleeping position. I stood and walked into the kitchen to find Sam by the stove.

"Hey.." I mumbled.

"Good morning." Sam turned and smiled. "How are you feeling? Need any tylenol? Asprin?"

I shook my head. "Thanks though."

"Did you and Colby have fun last night?" Sam grinned before turning back to the stove.

"W-what?" My cheeks burned slightly.

"You guys drank half a bottle of whiskey."

I sighed remembering the events from the night before. "No.."

Sam sighed before plating some bacon. "Didn't think so. He married you so his parents would get off his back, didn't he?" It was more of a statement than a question. He scoffed slightly when I didn't answer.

I looked away from him as he handed me a plate. "Don't say anything to anyone..please.."

Sam looked at me softly and sighed. "I won't but if you have any problems just come to me okay?" Sam grabbed a pen and a small peice of paper, scribbling on it before handing it to me. "Here. If he causes you any trouble or you need someone to talk to call me. I wrote Kat's number on there too."

I smiled, taking the paper. "Thanks, Sam.."

Sam nodded as he grabbed his own plate and sat next to me. "How does he act when its just you and him?"

"I don't really know how to answer that. We just signed a contract a three days ago so I just moved two nights ago." I took a few bites of my bacon before pushing my plate away.

"I see.." Sam trailed of before his attention turn to Kat, who had just walked in. "Oh hey babe."

Kat smiled groggily as Sam wrapped his arms around her. I smiled sadly at the two, wishing I had that. I watched them kiss as I stood and walked to the bathroom.

I fixed my hair up my and fixed up what makeup I could with the eyeliner and concealer in my purse. I looked in the mirror one final time before heading back out.

"Is there a coffee shop near here?" I asked, surfing through my purse.

"Few blocks to the right. I can drive you there if you want?" Kat walked closer to me.

"Um no.. I'll walk." I mumbled, gripping onto the lighter in my purse.

Kat nodded before I stepped out of the house. I took a deep breath before taking out what I was searching for.

I lit the cigarette as I started walking to the coffee shop. I haven't had one in a hot minute but I gained the bad habit a few years ago. So much stress from two jobs lead me to a lot of bad habits. I wanted to feel good while being at work.

I took a hit, breathed it in before breathing it out. I felt a small buzz in the back of my head, smiling slightly. I missed the feeling.

Its like a tight wire around your neck. Every cigarette you smoke, th wire wraps around your neck another time. Every pack is a pull tighter. It keeps wrapping and pulling until you can't breathe any longer. Some can get out, others can't.

I only smoked about half on the way there, putting it out on the sidewalk before heading inside. I paid for my coffee and received it a little while later. I stepped out of the shop, lighting the cigarette back up before taking a sip of my drink.

I smoked the tobacco quickly, flushing the taste with my coffee. My mind drifted to Colby and the night we had shared, even for a short while.

I grabbed a small bottle of perfume from my purse, spraying a little to help get rid of the smell. It didn't help much, better then nothing.

I walked the rest of the way back, opening the door and greeting the three inside.

"I'm back!" I plastered a smile, only for it to faulter a little as I spotted Colby glaring at me.

"About damn time! We need to go." Colby grabbed my arm and started pulling me before stopping. He leaned closer and whispered in my ear. "Walk home. You aren't getting in my car smelling like cigarettes."

I sighed slightly, looking away before nodding. I grabbed my dress off the chair before turning to Kat.

"I'll return your clothes soon." I plastered another smile before leaving.

I walked down the street before realizing I didn't know where I was going at all. I groaned, lighting another cigarette as I pulled out my phone to call an uber.

I arrived home almost a half hour later. Colby was pacing while on the phone.

"I'm not even packed! No, we had a business dinner and crashed at Sam's place. We just got home. Not yet, I haven't had the chance." Colby glared at me the moment I walked through the door. "We will fly out tomorrow Ma."

I looked at him confused. Fly out? Tomorrow? Where the hell-?

"You. Go pack." Colby was no longer on the phone. "I have to work today so I need you to pack my bags too."

Without another word, Colby was gone. What the hell? Pack for what?

I sighed to myself and went to my room anyway. I grabbed my suitcase and packed some clothes and necessities.

I took a deep breath as I looked around the empty room. I shook my head and walked out, heading to Colby's.

I opened the door and took in how untouched it looked. Bed made perfectly. Nothing laying out.

I smiled slightly before searching his room for a suitcase. I found two in the closet. I pulled out the dark blue one and surfed through his dresser drawers. I packed clothes and his own necessities.

I wheeled his suitcase near his door before leaving. I laid on my bed as I took out my phone and shopped online for decorations for my room.

Eventually it got boring and I couldn't take it any longer. I pulled out the pill bottle from my stand, and threw back the last one.

Everything grew blurry as my mind wandered to Colby. He seemed pissed. What happened to being nice? Did he really not remember last night?

I closed my eyes as I drifted to sleep. A nap would be fine if I had nothing to do other then go to CVS to pickup a prescription. Its still fairly early anyway.
