I didn't sleep that night. Instead, I lay there, staring at the ceiling in the guest bedroom. I cried off and on through the night. My wrist now had fingerprint bruises from Colby's grip last night. My jaw was also sensitive as if it was bruised under the skin.

At about 5 in the morning, I got up, putting on the clothes Kat gave me to wear today. It was a long-sleeve crop top that had snakes winding up the sleeves and black holey skinny jeans with fishnets. I did up my makeup and styled my curtain bangs.

I really needed to trim my bangs. They've gotten so long to the point where it covers up my eyes. It didn't look half bad but I wasn't used to it.

I heard movement outside the room I was in. Probably Sam and Kat getting ready. I sighed softly as I packed up everything I used.

"Are you up?" Kat knocked on the door.

"Yeah, you can come in." I finished up as I watched her open the door.

"How are you doing..?" She trailed off slightly.

"I'm fine, Kat." I smiled at her.

She sighed, knowing I was lying but decided not to push it. "Alright. Sam is making breakfast if you are hungry."

I shook my head, "I'll be out in a minute."

She left without saying another word. I sighed to myself. I knew she was worried, but I'd be fine. Even if it is tearing me up inside.

I walked out to the living room and greeted the two. We didn't have to leave for another two hours but we all got a head start on today.

"I'm gonna head to the nearest store and grab some coffee. I'll be back soon." I smiled before walking out the door. I lit up the stick of tobacco on my way.

I grabbed Tylenol from the store before buying coffee from the coffee shop. I headed back to Sam's house, scrolling through social media.

Sam and Kat were eating when I got back, both on their phones. I smiled softly at the two, sitting on the couch as I spaced. Eventually, Sam tapped my shoulder and let me know that we were leaving.

The three of us loaded up the Uber that Sam had called for us before the three of us sat in the back seat.

We chatted through the drive to the airport. It was a longer drive than I had expected. Sam called Colby about half way through the trip to make sure he was on the way.

We met Colby inside the airport. He wore a black button-down, which was lazily buttoned, and black jeans. His hair was messy and his lip looked bruised and busted. He seemed tired and in a little pain. Probably a hangover.

I sighed and pulled out the bottle of Tylenol and a tube of medical ointment. I bought a bottle of water before returning to the group.

"What is this for?" He looked at me confused as I tried to hand him the three objects.

I rolled my eyes and squirted out a little bit of ointment. I held his face closer to me as I placed the ointment on his lip. He winced slightly at the feeling, but I kept his face where it was.

I pulled away from him when the ointment covered his wound. I handed him the bottle of water and Tylenol again.

"Don't take more then four," I spoke sternly before turning to grab my suitcase and walk to the boarding line.

The three of them looked almost stunned, before following me.

Colby sat in the seat next to me, closer to the lane, while Sam and Kat sat in the row behind us. I relaxed in the seat and tried to focus on anything but the man next to me.

The three of them fell asleep shortly after we took off, which left me alone. I couldn't sleep during the plane ride, even with the lack of sleep from last night.

By the end of the flight, we ended up in Kansas. I didn't know what we were doing here in Kansas but it seemed like Sam did.

"Colby. Is your mom coming to pick you guys up?" Sam asked as Colby nodded.

Mom? Are we visiting his parents?

"Do you guys need a ride or-?" Colby questioned.

"Kat and I are going to stay at my mom's. We will be checking in though." Sam glared at Colby before glancing at me.

Colby sighed and nodded before calling his mom. Sam and Kat both gave me a quick hug and a 'Good luck' before leaving.

I stayed silent the entire wait and the entire ride to his mom's house. She rambled random things the entire care ride. Stuff like how she had to show me Colby's baby pictures, and how I could just call her mom.

I smiled at her nonsense. She was much more enjoyable than her son.
