🍂Chapter 3: Cute🍂

Charlie's Pov.

I stared at the bottle, my body frozen.
Then my eyes looked up at Nick,
"Alright you two , in you go, ten minutes !" Everyone clapped and watched as I shakily stood up, I was unable to tell if it was the alcohol or my nerves....or both.

Nick stood up and opened the door for me politely.
I was literally dying inside at this point.
Internally screaming.

For a side closet it was fairly spacious.

I sat down on the floor against the wall, bringing my knees up.
Wanting this to be done with.
Nick closed the door and sat down as well next to me.

"Sorry, I hope this isn't too uncomfortable for you. We don't have to do anything." He said softly.
I looked at him, the only light coming into the closet was from the outside of the door at the bottom of its frame.
But it was just enough to read his face.

I smiled and nodded.
"Thanks. I've never played this game so I'm kind of nervous." I said awkwardly.
"Okay ..okay really nervous" I laughed half heartedly.

He laughed and nodded, but gave me a gentle smile.
"Trust me I know what you mean. I'm surprised I came to the party at all tonight? Other than my teammates, I don't really know anyone else on campus. I figured coming tonight was worth a shot." He said rubbing his neck in a sort of nervous way.

He was so cute.
Why do I always crush on the hot straight guys.

" well, if it makes you feel better, I don't know anyone on campus ..like at all" I chuckled .

"Hm that's not true" he said pretending to be confused.
"Well I'm brand new , I haven't even started classes yet so " I laughed.
"Well, now you know one person ." He grinned holding his hand up in a polite way.

"Hi, I'm Nick" he smiled in confidence.

I chuckled , but shook his hand anyhow.
"Charlie" I said playing along.

"Charlie.." he repeated as if he liked the sound of it.
My heart rate increased abit as I heard him say it.
Already wanting to know when he'd say it again.

He looked at me suspiciously,
"Wait, Didn't you go to Truham?" He asked

I was taken a bit  back but I nodded ,
"Ah, yeah." I said awkwardly, hoping and praying that he didn't recognize me because of the bullying. But it was more than likely.

Tao and Elle were really the only ones that kept me company while I went to Truham.

But I recognized Nick too,
I think he was part of the rugby team.
But I'd never spoken to him directly.

I think he was even the captain, so it was abit hard not to know who he was.
I assumed he was just like the other guys on the team, but so far he's been surprisingly nice.
And he's so much cuter up close.
My god.

"That's cool, I thought I recognized you. I think we might've been in the same forum once."
He said trying to remember.

But we weren't , I definitely would've remembered if we had been.
I think he recognized me as the only openly gay kid at school who was known for having been bullied.
