🍂Chapter 13: Eager🍂

🍂Charlie's Pov.🍂

"Nicki! I'm home! Can you and Charlie help me with the groceries please ?" We heard his mom shout from down stairs. We looked at each other in a panic, I scrambled off the bed as he wiped me clean quickly, tossing it into the bin.
"Shit shit shit" I said looking for my under wear, he pulled his clothes on quickly and helped me look for my pants. I pulled my sweater on and tried to fix my hair, and then I tried to fix his.
"Good? " I asked ,
He nodded .

We hurried out as i awkwardly followed behind him. "Hey mum, sorry I was finishing a game up with Charlie. In the back as usual yeah?" He said as we reached the bottom of the stairs, he kissed her cheek quickly and I smiled sheepishly holding up a hello of a wave, following after him.
We went out to her car to grab the Tesco bags.
"She knew . Nick I Swear she knew" I whined as he threw bags onto his arms before giving me just one to carry.
He laughed,
"Oh relax, even if she did know, she doesn't mind, if anything she's probably really excited that I brought someone home at all" he said smiling as he closed the trunk.
I chuckled following him back inside.

🍂Years Later🍂

Me and Nicks relationship grew and grew stronger and closer throughout university.
We eventually moved out of our dorm rooms and got a cozy two story flat together instead , after the first year of being together.
After Nicks graduation, he got a job as a school teacher, while I was still finishing up my last year and working part time at a cafe.
The very last day and very last class of my last year, I was sitting in English , staring at the clock as I waited eagerly. I glanced down at my lap to look at my phone, Nick had texted me.

Nick: Waiting outside ❤️

I grinned.
Eager now to finally be out of school and on the same level of life as Nick was.
The clock struck the end of class and I hurried out , running down the hallways, I hurried down the concrete steps to the first floor , and out to the court yard but stopped in the middle, on the pathway.
I dropped my bag to the wet autumn ground, the leaves beneath my feet.
The wind lovingly carried gold and autumn colored leaves around the atmosphere, before eventually trickling down to the ground.
I stood there, my hand over my mouth.

Nick was there waiting for me.
But not in the usual way leaning against his car like he normally did.
No..
Nick was waiting in a different way today.

My legs slowly carried me over to him, standing on the slicked ground.
He looked up at me , the box , with a golden and glittering diamond encrusted ring sat, waiting too.
"I know I said I was gonna get you a promise ring but... when I was looking at them, I realized I don't wanna wait. I don't want to wait any longer to be able to call you mine, I want forever with you, to start right now. I love you so much " he breathed out nervously.
"Charlie," he said taking my hand.
"Crashing into you at this very spot , on this day , years ago, was the best thing to ever happen to me. You are the best thing to have ever happened to me...will you ..marry me?" He asked.
His tie blowing in the wind as he had just gotten off work, he even still had his badge on.

I sniffled nodding,
"took you long enough " I croaked, and smiled, tears streaming.
"Yes" I whimpered. 
He laughed , smiling as he slipped the ring on, clapping echoed around us from the students passing by us, some had stopped to watch.
He stood up and whisked me around off my feet , hugging me to him.
I held on , laughing through my watered eyes. Blurs of gold, yellow and orange browns painted the world around us, leaves flowing.
He laughed putting me down and hugged me tight around my shoulders, I buried my face in his neck.
Trying to get my crying in control so I could speak more clearly.
" i love you so so much" I said hugging him.
He sighed, "I can't wait to be with you forever" as he placed a light kiss on the side of my head.
We pulled back as I looked into his eyes, we stood there on the same path way the first day we met, deja vu being clear to us, "me too" I sniffled.

My arms wrapped around his neck as his wrapped around my waist, as I kissed him passionately.
Until we pulled away, our foreheads pressed together as we laughed softly, enjoying the moment , enjoying the very start of forever. ..

"Yeah?" I replied..

"Can we adopt?" He asked.

My heart stopped..
