Elsie Pov

The silent ambiance of my dorm room was disrupted by the flickering glow of a magic lacrima, a communication device connecting me with Zeref. Frustration and anger bubbled beneath the surface as I confronted the enigmatic figure.

"Why, Zeref?" My voice trembled with a mix of emotions. "Why did you contact Ranoa Academy for my mother,. . . or me, to teach here? What are you playing at?" My hands were grabbing the side of the desk as I stared down at the Lacrima, his figure having just an amused smirk. I was never able to understand what his majesty was thinking.

Zeref's laughter echoed through the lacrima, amplifying my irritation. "Ah, Elsie, always a spirited one. I thought it would be a delightful surprise for you."

I clenched my fists, my school uniform rustling with my simmering agitation. "A surprise? You find it amusing to meddle in the lives of people, treat our destinies like some game?"

Zeref's response carried a hint of amusement. "It's not meddling, my dear. It's an opportunity. Irene teaching at Ranoa Academy benefits you and the academy itself. A mutually beneficial arrangement, wouldn't you say?"

My frustration flared. "That's not the point! You always have some hidden agenda, Zeref. What are you really after?"

Zeref's laughter reverberated through the lacrima. "Curiosity suits you, Elsie. But some things are better left discovered. Your mother is merely a catalyst for the magical growth I foresee within Y/n and you."

My hands tightened into fists. "You're not telling me everything."

Zeref's tone turned cryptic. "Some mysteries are meant to unfold in due time. Embrace the opportunities that come your way, my dear. The medieval world holds secrets waiting to be revealed. And besides that, you should know what I want, don't you Irene."

As the lacrima fell silent, a contemplative look crossed Zeref's features. "Speaking of secrets, have you and your boyfriend uncovered anything about Ankhseram? Information about the God of Life and Death could be crucial for all of you."

The mention of Ankhseram injected a new layer of tension into the conversation. The chill air in the room seemed to thicken, carrying the weight of both our frustrations and the mysterious threads of destiny intertwining our lives. Zeref's inquiry lingered, leaving me with a sense that the secrets we sought might hold the key to unraveling the enigma surrounding Ranoa Academy and our roles within its magical tapestry.

I sat back slowly. There was still the issue about my dragon slaying magic being gone, one which I don't know if I get it back once I'm an adult again. And I wouldn't want to turn back either. I'm too afraid to lose the conection I have build up with him. My heart thumped harshly every time my mind went to him.

Y/n Pov

The medieval ambiance of the academy library provided a hushed backdrop to the intimate conversation between Elsie, Irene, and me. Elsie's normally vibrant demeanor carried a subtle weight as we sat amidst the ancient tomes and scrolls, seeking solace and answers to the dilemma that haunted her.

"Elsie, my dear," Irene's voice, a soothing melody with a touch of maternal concern, addressed her daughter. "Tell us about this issue you're facing with your dragon slayer powers. Perhaps we can find a solution together."

Elsie sighed, her school attire a contrast to the modern struggle etched on her face. "It's just... I've been feeling disconnected from my dragon slayer abilities. The magic that once flowed through me with ease now feels elusive, as if slipping through my grasp, I'm not feeling it anymore."

I couldn't help but reach out, my hand finding hers in a silent gesture of support. The warmth of her touch in the medieval library offered a small sanctuary amidst the uncertainty that clouded her thoughts.
