riki was alone in the forbidden forest. he was running aimlessly, searching, searching, and searching...

he didn't know what he was looking for. why on earth was he in the forbidden forest?

he ran with no sense of direction.

he felt lost.

he didn't know where to go.

he felt like there was no way out.

he started thinking about his parents, his friends, thinking that his fate lay under the ground.

his heart was about to beat out of his chest.

he turned around, only for his blood pressure to drop in an instant, his face turning a pale white, worry etched on it.

a humongous troll slowly trudging closer to him, dragging a club with spikes on the ground, the scraping sound making riki's ears bleed.

his eyes slowly trailed up to the troll's face, the shock rooting riki to the ground, his body unable to function.

the troll's face resembled umi's.

he could only see black.

🪄

riki panted, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he awakened from his slumber, jumping out of his bed.

phew, it was just a nightmare.

chills ran down riki's spine as he thought about the dream he just had. however, he quickly regained his composure and threw on his robe, running out of the dungeon to attend his classes, leaving him no time to think about the dream.

🪄

in the wizarding world, everything is possible.

and the dream that riki just had, was definitely an omen.

someone-who-could-not-be-named (not lord voldemort, that guy's been killed eons back), was out to get riki.

yes, it was umi.

head girl, salutatorian, witty ravenclaw.

someone who held a huge grudge against riki. someone who hated riki.
someone who wanted revenge.

things were about to get messy.

🪄

the head girl was in her dormitory, fuming, her arms crossed at her desk.

you could literally see steam pouring out of her ears as she pouted, her cheeks a dark shade of red.

she couldn't believe the catastrophe that had occurred on HER big day! the day she had wanted to be absolutely perfect!

out of everything that could have ruined her day, it just had to be riki.

riki, riki, riki.

oh how she hated him with a vengeance.

why did riki always have to ruin her life?

why did he want her to be miserable?

why couldn't she even beat him...for once?

it's a disgrace to do worse than a slytherin.

she was a good for nothing.

she couldn't do anything right.

umi curled up into a ball, and let it all out.

🪄

it wasn't till three hours later that umi decided to get up for some fresh air. she quickly grabbed her robe, and hurried out of the common room.

she could feel dagger stares stabbing her all over. she locked eyes with the ground, dashing out.

i hate you, i hate you, i hate you.

umi repeatedly cursed in her mind to take her mind off the stares people gave her as she walked along corridors.

the mutters and whispers got a little overwhelming.

umi quickened her pace, heading straight to the hogwarts bridge.

when she reached, she heaved a sigh of relief. there was barely anyone around.

the bridge was a significant place for umi. because her mind easily gets clouded with many responsibilities, she tries to unwind by looking at scenery. and this place, unfamiliar with the rest of the school, was perfect. quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. just the way she liked it.

she perched her arms on the ledge, staring at the wondrous scenery beneath her.

she could get lost in the sea of blues, greens and brown forever.

staying like that for almost half an hour, as she collected her thoughts, she breathed in the fresh air one last time, ready to head back.

she turned around, jumping in surprise as she nearly bumped into someone in front of her.

she staggered backwards, but the person was quick to grab her waist, strong arms holding her in place.

a wave of butterflies entered umi's stomach as her heart started racing.

no one has ever done that to her.

it didn't help that the person's body was basically touching hers, and she didn't even know who helped her.

she tilted her head, only for her jaw to hang in shock.

oh. my. god.

the kind of the land was holding her.

yes, who else other than nishimura riki?

riki glanced down at her.

he seemed to have realised it was umi, because he immediately jumped back and put his arms behind his back, retreating backwards.

umi also walked backwards, nearly hitting the ledge.

"what...what are you doing here?" umi questioned.

"what? this is my spot. i come here weekly." riki snapped.

umi folded her arms, ready to counter-attack.

but she didn't feel like talking.

so,without saying a word, she brushed past riki, and fled.

riki stared at her disappearing figure in shock.

what had he done? why did he save umi, when he knew it was her?

truth was, riki followed umi to the bridge.

but not to play a prank.
