Evette, the mist creature, and the Bone Carver were still banded together near one another in their little pockets - with them taking on just a little more than herself. Stryga had left their ranks a few moments ago, and Evette didn't really care to see where she had disappeared off to.

Evette disintegrated and choked any who came for her - she froze bodies, and shattered them with a wave of her hand. She was moving through the bodies, not registering much, until she found herself surrounded by a large circle of Fey.

In the distance she found her people engaged in battle with Fey and Fae alike, and she watched as Kaladin formed a sharp line of his shadows, before he threw his arm out, and sliced his enemies in half with it. She watched as Evander engulfed his enemies in flames, and she couldn't help but think that Roan should be here with them.

The only ones who had seemed to notice that she was surrounded by Fey were Valerian, and Aerlo. Evette saw the look that passed through Valerian's eyes, and she just knew he was headed for her instantly. He felt that he should always fight by her side and set his life out on the line to save her own simply because he was her commander.

It annoyed her sometimes. She didn't want him to die for her. She was just glad he couldn't die right now because of her bestowal.

Evette turned to face the circle of Fey that surrounded her, when she felt it and it made her freeze. She felt the power of the Cauldron ignite, and she felt it rumble through her body. "Protect our people...the Cauldron has ignited!" Evette called through to her Court.

And then she heard the distant shout of Nesta, calling out to Cassian. Remembering that time in the meeting room at the Dawn Court, she knew Nesta was able to feel when the Cauldron was about to be used. She easily put everything together and gazed up into the air, and she used her telekinesis to form a shield around her that pushed the Fey back from her while she was distracted. That protected her while she was distracted.

Evette's eyes were in the air - she saw the Illyrian's, and the Peregryn's fighting the Attor in the air. And, Evette remembered with a jolt that Romulus was up there with his dragon. If that was where the power was to be directed (and she was sure it would be else Nesta wouldn't have called out for Cassian) he and his dragon would surely die. Evette waited for some form of happiness or satisfaction to fill her at the thought.

But dread only came from her - worry bubbled within her. Determination was there, too. And maybe a little fear.

And then it was in that moment that she realised that she didn't want Romulus dead - not at all did she want Romulus to die. Her heart raced at the thought, her blood boiled at the thought. And then she also realised as a coldness washed over her that he was right - she had grown to care for the man. She didn't know when, or how, or even why it happened.

All she knew was that she cared for Romulus. And she would not see him dead.

So, Evette threw her hands upwards as her panic and worry fuelled her, as all of the varying emotions around her fuelled her, as the utter chaos ensuing around them fuelled her, and her power. Her green energy shot into the sky just as a death white light whirled for its target. Her green power formed a shield instantly to block them from the power hurtling for them.

The white power crashed through other shields - through Rhys' and Azriel's - and seeing this happen she tried absorbing more emotions around her, and pushed their energy towards her shield protecting the Illyrian's, Peregryn's, and Romulus. Her green power glowed brighter in the sky, as did her eyes.

When the white power of the Cauldron hit her own, it fizzled violently, as she stumbled back a few steps almost as if she took the hit herself. She held the white power back as it ate at her own, and pushed against her own. Evette pushed more and more energy into the shield protecting them, and she cried out loudly with the strain it required to hold it back, while also keeping the Fey back from her. Her arms shook in the air, but she held on. She held on tightly to her power.
