a confused expression washed over my face. i looked paige up and down wondering why on earth she'd be talking to me at such a random time. my eyes make there way around paige's toned body and all the way back up to her face. her blue eyes, her slightly curved nose, pink flushed lips. am i staring too long?
"i uh....wanted to say sorry for earlier this morning." paige looked down at the floor with her arms laying beside her. still confused, i keep my eye contact held with paige once she looked back up. "it's fine. it was an honest accident." why on earth am i being so nice? she broke up with you! for no reason. stop pitying her sof.

paige's eyes tried to wander somewhere else but they couldn't be ripped away from the brunettes dark chocolate eyes. "if you want i could drive you to class. as an apology" paige said quietly. sofia tilts her head and furrowed her eyebrows softly. now it was just awkward. the silence of them staring at eachother unsure of what to say was quite painful. sofia finally sighed before speaking. "yeah. that's ok. thank you" paige nodded and grabbed her keys before walking out the door as sofia followed her. paige used to open and hold doors for sofia but it felt odd to do it now so she let the brunette do things herself for now.

my heart was still beating faster than usual. this was way too out of line for paige to do randomly. maybe it was her walking in on me changing i don't know but something had to have spark her to make this big of a move. i opened the car door and stepped in and buckled my seatbelt in. i had my backpack on my lap and my phone in hand. paige got in and started the car. we drove in silence for the first 4 minutes before the silence came to an end. "so um. how're you?" paige said softly. my vision went blurry for a couple seconds just at hearing her voice. "tired. heh" a scoff mixed with laughter leaves paige's mouth. i stared ahead at the road completely unaware that i was being sort of rude by not asking paige how she was. "oh how are you?" i say quickly. paige starts to rant about her new college classes that she signed up for earlier and how they might be too much on her. as she rambled on and on i couldn't help but stare at her eyes. i was totally mesmerized by the fact that she was talking to me again. her voice was just as energetic as it was on our first date. something about her was different though. like she was even more excited than when she first kissed me.

if i went and looked into sofias eyes right now i know for a fact i would crash the car. so i continued to talk about college classes and grades, all up until she blurted out. "hey paige." i stopped in my tracks and listened to sofia. "mhm?" i mumbled.

"do you still love me?"

my breathing immediately got slower. i felt my head spin around like i was drunk. i wouldn't have imagined that to come out of sofias mouth so soon. i began to stutter trying to not swerve off the road. i didn't want to upset her but i didn't want her to know that i still had feelings for her. "i-uh. no." it's almost like i could hear the car go silent. i couldn't hear sofias breath or mine. as the silence filled up the car we were only three minutes away from campus but the rest of the drive was silent.

i could not believe paige right now. who the fuck offers to give their ex a ride but say they don't love them. maybe that's just me because weird and clingy but seriously. and she didn't even apologize? as soon as we pulled up to campus i snatched my bag from the car seat and got out of the car. i slammed the door behind me making paige flinch. i stormed off and shoved one of my airpods into my ear. after rushing to my class it was only five minutes past the start of class so i wasn't super late. just like i had planned ashley was there. her beautiful auburn hair was almost glowing in the sunlight that was peeking through the windows. i sat down in my seat which was relatively close to ashley's seat. i know i'm making it seem like this is the only girl i have eyes for but i was really hoping that paige would've said yes while we were in the car. i pulled out my notebook as the class actually started. our teacher roamed around the classroom looking at each person sitting down.
