I sigh and knock on the grey painted door, being opened ten seconds after.

"Well if it isn't my favorite boy, come in Allen."

I nod and smile, stepping in. As usual, the house smelled like chocolate and firewood, but it was a comforting smell. It felt like a second home. I turn to the woman who I call my mentor, who closes the door behind me.

"Well then, how has everything been, Rosalie or should I say, 'Rosie', as most call you?"

She laughs, blonde hair slightly going over her eyes.

"Now now Allen, we've been over this many times. Call me Rosie, even if Rosalie is my name, I think it's too long if I say so myself."

I chuckle, and wait for her to catch up by my side. We walk into the usual room we go into, only light source in it being the candles scattered around.

On all the walls were large bookshelves full of book, specifically religious books. Books of Vodou , Christianity, Muslim, Buddhism, Islam, really just any religion you can think of. Me and Rosie ussualy studied religion, but what I was most interested in, was the origins of Vodou.

So, Rosie was my mentor. She tought me of many religions, but aside from religions she tought me of the world of spirits. The wonders of paranormal activity and spirits.

She was a friend of my mother, I've heard they both met from their Interest in religion and from their follow in Vodou.

"Well, how has everything been?" She slightly pats her long dress to swipe dust off it, then sitting down on a small chair.

I put a finger on my chin and think for a second,

How has everything been?

"Well, it's been..quite fine I suppose. I met a man named Anthony a week ago or so. We've hung out and talked some,   just went out with him a couple days ago to go and celebrate his arrival in New Orleans with his friend Cheryl, as they've both told me he recently came."

Rosie looks up from the window she was staring at and faces me. Eyebrow raised, small smile on her face.

"Did Allen make new friends I hear?"

I open my mouth to speak, closing it faster.

Well...yes. I could consider him a...friend I suppose.

"Yes, I guess so."

Rosie's smile grows, clearly happy at the news.

"Maybe I could meet him sometime, Anthony correct?"

I nod in response, standing up and getting a small notepad out and a fountain pen. I did have some errands to run after this small meeting, but it wasn't too much to worry of.

"Yes, possibly. Anywho, so what did you call me for today?"

I don't look up from the notepad, my right hand twirling the pen in ways to spell out beautiful and smooth cursive letters, swifting across the small thin page.

The room goes dead silent for a second, only noise is from my pen, which stops after I realize the quite.

...

"They haven't caught onto you yet, right Allen?"

I shoot a glance at Rosalie's back, giving her an intense look.

"Rosie, no. Absolutely not. I know how to deal with it all, I know how to erase evidence. You've taught me this. Your lucky enough I even told you about this."

She turns towards me, eyes heavy and sharp frown.

"I know. I just don't need you getting into a lifetime sentence, nor you getting the death penalty. I taught you all of this for a reason. I did it so you knew how to be slick, charming, secretive."
