Chapter Thirty Five

Dimitri Petrov POV

Seven years ago

I heard the door getting knocked on, fuck. Why do people like to ruin good things? I was sleeping peacefully with Allegra on the couch and having the best nap ever but I got up and I saw Allegra wake up. I walked up to the door and opened it up. Of course it was Antonio there standing. I sighed and looked at him.

"Sleeping well sleeping beauty" He said and I faked a laugh and he was just smiling.

"Is it something you want or do you want to get beaten up again?" I asked him but he was just chuckling. After a while he stopped and looked at me with a serious look on his face.

"Break up with her, make her hate you and to never want to come back to you" He then said and I chuckled as I looked back at Allegra who was smiling at me and then looked at the TV.

"I love her, I would rather die than ever make her hate me. She is the light of my life and the only good thing in my life" I said and Antonio shook his head.

"If you truly did love her you wouldn't want her to choose between love or family" Antonio said and I got pissed. He then gave me a half smile and walked away, I shut the door behind me and walked back to the living room.

"Dimitri, are you ok?" She asked me.

"Yeah, I'm just going to take a cigarette to blow off some steam, want to come with me?" I asked her.

"No, I have been feeling sick and I'm trying not to smoke" She said and I looked at her with a concerned look.

We were sitting on the ground and looking out at the park. It was a nice and hot day and a perfect day to go out in the sun.

"Someday I would love to play with our future kids and have fun, you know" She said and I just smiled at her.

"When we have kids I will spoil them and we will have so much fun" I then said and she just laughed. I love her laugh, it was the most satisfying thing to ever hear and how her eyes scrunch up everytime she laughs, is just cute and her smile after the laugh.

"We will have at least four kids" She said.

"Of course I mean I will try not to get more than four" I said and we both laughed. That's when two little children came up to us with a smiling face.

"Can we help you?" She asked them and they just giggled.

"Do you want to play with us, miss?" They said and she looked at me and I was smiling at her.

"Sure" She said and got up. I looked at her as she was playing around with the kids and having so much fun with them and that's when Antonio's words came to mind. 'If you truly love her you wouldn't make her choose between love and family' and I knew he was right. After a while she came back and sat next to me.

"Allegra don't you miss your family? Like don't you want to be with them" I asked her and I could see that it caught her off guard.

"I mean I do but like I can't even trust them now" She said.

"Will you ever forgive them?" I asked her.

"Maybe someday, maybe like a month or so I need some time from them but even if I did they would never let me be with you and that just makes me sad, I just wish there was a way for me to be happy with them and be happy with you" She said smiling at me and my heart broke. I knew there would never be a way for her to be happy with me and them.

I was waiting for Allegra beside the bathroom stalls in the mall thinking about the past weeks. She has now got back to her family and she told me that she was lying to them because she didn't want to hurt their feelings or mine. She saw me and quickly walked up to me and kissed me.
