Chapter 27:
Rekindling BondsThe Chavan mansion exuded a calm aura that afternoon, the sun casting gentle rays through the windows. Sejal's footsteps echoed softly as she made her way inside. Spotting Geeta seated on the sofa lost in thought, Sejal's heart sank.
Approaching quietly, Sejal settled beside Geeta, her nerves tingling with anticipation. She took a deep breath before speaking, her voice tinged with regret, "Maa, I... I'm sorry. I've been avoiding you, and that was so wrong of me. I hope you can forgive me."
Geeta turned to face Sejal, her eyes brimming with emotions she had concealed for days. Sejal's words touched her deeply, reigniting a spark of hope in her heart.
"Sejal, my dear child," Geeta's voice trembled slightly, "I missed our talks. But I understand. You don't need to apologize. I forgive you. I am sorry too, beta. I know I shouldn't have kept quiet, par beta agar mein kuch bhi kehti bua ko toh wo aur bawaal khada karti, tum unko jaanti nahi ho!"
Sejal's eyes welled up with tears of relief and gratitude. The weight that had burdened her lifted as Geeta embraced her warmly, their bond reaffirmed.
"I promise, Maa," Sejal whispered, "I'll make sure this doesn't happen again. You mean everything to me here. I am the closest to you here, I didn't feel bad that my husband said nothing but when you didn't I felt really hurt"
Geeta squeezed Sejal's hand, her affectionate gaze fixing on her, "And you mean a lot to me too, dear. Our bond is precious, and I'm grateful it's back. I trusted you, I know Arjun very well. I'm happy that they are gone and will not be back here. Thankfully, I have ended all the relations with their family and Vanraj agreed too."
"Maa I missed you! Sooo soo much."
"Same beta. Mujhe pata nahi tha ki Rishabh ko tum itni pasand ho, Mihir ke liye aur iss pure pariwar ke liye. Tum udaas thi toh pura Ghar udaas tha."
In that moment, their embrace symbolized more than just forgiveness; it signified the restoration of a cherished relationship, a return to the unbreakable bond they had shared.
Time skip.
The Chavan mansion buzzed with the energy of a newfound harmony. Geeta and Sejal, engrossed in a lively exchange on the sofa, seemed to bridge the gap that had grown in their interactions. Mihir, catching the sight, couldn't resist teasing Rishabh about the unexpected turn of events.
Mihir: "Rishabh Bhai, looks like the long-lost chatterbox syndrome has finally hit the living room again!"
Rishabh: (grinning) "I know, right? Who knew they'd be talking like old pals after all."
The brothers, feeling the weight of exhaustion, retired directly to their rooms. Sejal, eager to greet Rishabh with her usual warmth, felt a pang of disappointment as he hurried past her, leaving her feeling disheartened. A sigh escaped her lips as she reminded herself of the emotional unpredictability she sensed in Rishabh.
"Mujhe faltu ka attitude dekha Raha hai khadus. Abh dekho mein kaisa ganda ignore karti hu. Bheek mangoge tum Mr Chavan. Dekh lena."
Seeking solace, Sejal ventured into Dada and Dadi's room. As the conversation shifted from work tales to the eccentric trends of the modern world, laughter danced through the air.
Sejal: "You won't believe it, Dada and Dadi! People are creating art with food these days. It's like a whole new level of creativity!"
Dadi: "Art with food? Back in our time, food was for eating, not for painting!"
