"Something's got a hold of me lately
No, I don't know myself anymore"
2016 — Italy
"AND EILANA SANTOS WINS AT MONZA!"
Sometimes, Eilana Santos believed in luck. She knew most things came down to skill or percervience but the occasional thing (or often for some) was purely down to being lucky or not. Eilana had always been lucky when it came down to it, with racing and with other things.
"I told you I'd win, Albon. Did you doubt me?"
Eilana grinned at Alex Albon, another rookie in the F3. The two of them didn't know each other all that well but when there was limited space in the F3 paddock, you were bound to run into other people. Not to mention, she was driving for ART just like Alex was, along with Charles and Nyck De Vries.
"I don't doubt you, Eilana," Alex laughed. "I just find you funny."
"I do not know why I am funny but okay," Eilana shrugged.
"You underestimate yourself," Alex snorted. "Are you going to celebrate? Get drunk?"
"Do all English think about getting drunk to celebrate?" Eilana questioned, raising an eyebrow. "You were raised there, weren't you?"
"Yeah, I was but I don't think about it all the time," Alex laughed, smiling. "What do you do in Brazil to celebrate something big?"
"I don't do fancy celebrations," Eilana replied with a shrug.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously," Eilana repeated. "If I let me Pai or Mama plan something...they go big or go home. But me? I prefer to be in the rainforest and appreciate the trees."
"Damn," Alex whistled. "That's inspiring. I feel inspired."
"Glad to be of service," Eilana bowed.
"I heard about your F2 news, congrats," Alex offered.
"Thanks!" Eilana beamed. "You'll be joining me, I have a feeling. I think we'll even get to Formula 1 together and cause trouble for everyone on the grid."
"You have so much hope that it radiates off you."
"If you have no hope, you'll go nowhere!"
