"...Neumann took a nasty hit today during the team's game against the Eagles..." the reporter said with a voice that was too cheerful for Y/N's liking, but she didn't turn off the tv, "Just in, we are currently receiving news that the 15-year-old prodigy has suffered a cartilage tear in his left shoulder..." Y/N sighed, leaning her head on Cam's shoulder and he put his arm around her, comforting her to the best of his abilities. The two were sitting in the waiting room in the infirmary at the gym where RWE was playing that weekend. The door beside them opened and the doctor came out. She sat in front of them and sighed heavily making Y/N and Cam sat up straight.

"Nelson suffered a cartilage tear in his right shoulder. It was most likely caused by the impact he took when he hit the ground. It's nothing too major, we can treat it with some injections and lots of rest," The doctor informed them. "Can he still play basketball?" Cam asking making Y/N slap his arm. "I think he needs about a month or so of rest, I'd like to see him again in 3 weeks to see how things are healing and we'll know more then. He can go home as soon as you sign his paperwork," the doctor stood up. "I'm gonna go call Cassie," Y/N said walking outside. She dialed her number and Cassie picked up on the 2nd ring. "How is he?" "I don't know how's HES doing, I haven't seen him yet," Y/N told her what all the doctors had informed her. "Are you guys coming back home?" Cassie asked worried. "I don't know Cass, I'll have to talk to him about it, I'd say probably. At least for a few weeks anyway. The discharge papers are taking forever." "Go take care of him Y/N, I know he's pissed. Love you guys." "Love you too Cass, bye." she said hanging up the phone and walking back inside.

She made her way to Nelson's room. When she got there, she saw Nelson, his arm and shoulder in a sling, bandaged up and elevated, a look on his face of anger, frustration, and sadness, all while dozing in and out of sleep. She quietly opened the door and walked over to his bed. She sat down on the side and brushed his hair out of his face, waking him up. "Hi," he said in a low, raspy voice, "Lay down." She laid down beside him, careful not to hurt him. He put his un-injured arm around her shoulders, and she put her arms around his waist. "This sucks," Nelson said trying to get comfortable. "I know baby, go to sleep it's fine," Y/N said playing with his hair. She watched his head slowly drop to the side as he fell asleep. Once she knew he was settled, she went to sleep herself.

The girl woke up to Cam gently shaking her awake, "Hey, I got his discharge papers ready, we can leave whenever." "Okay, give us a second." Y/N said as Cam walked out, shutting the door behind him. "Baby," she said waking him up, "Come on, we're going back the Air BnB," she told him, getting up. "Fine," Nelson groaned, rubbing his eyes. Y/N got all his stuff together and gave it to Cam. She helped him out of the bed, careful not to hurt him. The trio made their way to the parking lot and into Cam's Tesla. "Do you want an air pod?" Y/N asked her boyfriend, who had his head against the window. "Nah," he said, zoning out again. The girl grabbed his hand and gave him an unsure look. She decided to wait until they got back to the Air BnB to talk about it. Nelson eventually fell asleep, his head on his girlfriend shoulder, their hands still gripping each other's tightly.

When they got back, Cam carried Nelson's basketball bag and regular bag upstairs to the young couple's room. "You want to tell me what's going on now," Y/N asked her boyfriend once Cam had left them alone. Unexpectedly, the boy broke down into tears, laying in Y/N's arms. She instantly hugged him, rubbing his back and reassuring him. "What if I never play basketball again?" he cried, his voice cracking. "You will, everything will be ok. We'll be ok."
