Usually when things hit rock bottom, the only other way to go is up, right?

Wrong.

You, unfortunately, found out there's a rockier bottom, the kind with jagged rocks and bloodthirsty sharks.

Not fun.

You hoped that instance of getting followed was a one-time thing, but you found yourself looking over your shoulder daily for the familiar gaze of your stalker. You didn't know who they were or what they wanted, but you didn't feel safe leaving your apartment. Day after day, not knowing who was out there watching you, left you feeling restless, the ability to sleep was interrupted by every bump you heard in the night. You'd wait until the sun's rays finally hit the sky to close your eyes, but you were only allowed an hour or three to catch up on sleep before you were forced by New York's noise to welcome the day.

April checked in with you once or twice after her first visit, coming over to sit and talk with you. Her concern was adamant when she saw the lack of sleep you were getting, but you didn't dare tell her about being followed more than once. You couldn't take her being any more worried than she was right now. Plus, it was a new friendship, you didn't want to be more trouble than you felt worth. So, as per usual, you shook off her looks, telling her you'd be fine, and then as she'd begin to leave you'd promised to take better care of yourself.

You honestly didn't mind her company. She was intelligent, outspoken, and determined. That's three things you knew for sure. She was very prone to making sure you were alive and at least laughing during ur days of unknown solitude. She said it was her "older sister duty" and you honestly agreed. It was nice to have a role model to look up to. But you felt guilty, knowing she was another person you were keeping something from. You hated it, you wanted to spill your guts, but you couldn't imagine how she'd react, and you didn't think you could stomach it.

So, you kept everything inside, bottled up, hoping it would just go away. You knew your stalker would get tired sooner or later, especially if you just stayed in your apartment where it was safe and sound.

That meant you were going on week two of being curled up in a ball on your bed. You checked your phone, reading through the messages you, April, and the turtles were exchanging. In a bittersweet way, it was nice. The guys seemed to have picked up on how distant you were and kept inviting you over. You didn't feel safe though, so you'd decline politely, not wanting to worry them. But you knew they saw through it, at least one of them did.

Raph was texting you constantly, somehow catching onto you. He always found ways to call you, whether it was for five minutes to three hours, he didn't seem to mind. Neither did you, it helped to have him there when the nights got especially scary. It was worse though when he noticed the time, chastising you about going to bed, and left you all alone for the remaining hours you'd stay up. You knew he didn't know, and you wanted to tell him so badly, yet you couldn't. Not when you were just regaining whatever you lost with them.

Besides him, the other turtles reached out, showing their concerns in weird ways. Leo would send you various meditating videos, Donnie would send you paint restoration videos, and Mikey would send you various cute animal videos. You felt warm inside at how normal things were seeming with them, and you felt bad about not going to see them, but you couldn't risk it. Not now at least.

Your phone ringing brought you out of your head, answering the call and putting it to your ear.

"Mellow!" You chirped, putting on a light tone as you rubbed your eyes.
