Chapter 6 - Jiraiya and the Chuunin Exams

Jiraiya's heart was beating fast after Hiruzen walked by him, he then turned around and Naruto was right in front of him staring at him, this surprised him but what he saw was a blank face, it reminded him of Minato, Kakashi saw that neither one knew how to address the other so Kakashi walked over and nudged Naruto to atleast start the conversation. Jiraiya saw this and smiled because atleast Kakashi didn't abandon Naruto, Naruto shook his head and then spoke, "Hello master Jiraiya, it's an honor to finally meet you, before me and you discuss our personal matters, the Third Hokage has called you to test multiple people as seal masters, is that correct?" Jiraiya was taken aback by Naruto's manners but was also surprised Naruto knew why he was summoned, but then it clicked in Jiraiya's brain that Naruto was one of the people he needed to test, he then nodded for the boy to continue, Naruto smiled and then said, "we need you to test myself, Kakashi Hatake, Itachi Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha, and Shikamaru Nara." Jiraiya was surprised but also skeptical that so many people had completed the last volume of fuinjutsu because the art was very hard to comprehend but he decided to humor them and see if they were serious or not. Jiraiya then asked his first question for evaluation, "have all of you read all the volumes of Fuinjutsu," everyone responded yes, he then continued, "I need you all to demonstrate sealing an item and using a high level seal, Naruto will start." Sasuke, Sakura, Ino and Choji were off to the side watching and being curious about what is going on, Naruto stepped forward and began drawing the seal for sealing equipment, Jiraiya thought his calligraphy was beautiful and when Naruto finished, he sealed his katana and then unsealed it, Jiraiya was about to have him perform a high level seal when Naruto's kunai's caught his attention, Naruto saw his gaze and then said, "yes I can use that Seal and I have mastered it but I won't be using it until the chuunin exams," Jiraiya was now sweating, because Naruto had mastered the one Fuinjutsu that had made his father so feared, he was excited to see it in action again, he then spoke one last time, "the final test is creating your own seal....." Jiraiya was looking at them all and noticed that they didn't look disturbed at the idea, he then asked, "Have you all already created your own seals?" They all responded yes, Naruto showed him the Tailed beast clone seal, Kakashi went next and showed him a seal he just finished creating, it was called the, "Gate seal," this seal created a teleportation gate back to Konoha, it took concepts from the Hiraishin but it wasn't instant and it could only bring you back but it was a stroke of genius, this could minimize time going home after a mission, Jiraiya was speechless, Itachi and Shisui came up together and showed their work on the Mangekyo sharingan seal, Jiraiya looked it over and was amazed by the seal, last up was Shikamaru, Shika had developed a seal that could hold a fully capable jutsu at the ready, the seal would allow you to implant any jutsu and then you could take out the jutsu and use it as if you molded the chakra to make it but it's already there and ready, this would help in a pinch when fighting any enemy, Jiraiya then had the other four demonstrate by sealing an item and using a seal, they all did it and Jiraiya was happy to announce that they had five more seal masters for Konoha. After they finished, they all made their way to the hokage tower, it had been a couple hours and Hiruzen was waiting to see if they passed Jiraiya's test's or not, a knock came at his door and he said come in, the six people he was just thinking about then walked through the door, Jiraiya informed their hokage that they officially now had six seal masters for Konoha, Hiruzen smiled and said, "good, you are all dismissed," they all bowed and made their way outside, Jiraiya then came to a stop because Naruto was right in front of him, Naruto then spoke, "let's go get some Ramen, JiJi," he then started walking away, Jiraiya's eyes widened because Naruto had just called him grandfather, this made him happy and then he vowed to himself to never abandon Naruto again, he then started walking after the boy and said, "Minato... Kushina.... you would be so proud of your son. I'll be better this time around, I won't fail you both again."

Jiraiya and Naruto arrived at Ichiraku's, and they sat at the counter and gave old man Ichiraku their orders. He was happy to finally see Jiraiya with Naruto, he smiled and then started on their ramen. Jiraiya and Naruto were silent for what seemed like hours but it had only been a few minutes but then Naruto broke the silence, "I understand why you left, your world was turned upside down and you were in no shape to care for a baby but..... you should've checked in on me, we both know that dad would be pretty upset with you, he trusted you to care for me.... But.... I chose long ago to forgive you and give you another chance.... but if you leave me again, I won't ever forgive you, and I won't ever forget either." Jiraiya saw Naruto's face change between Minato's and Kushina's, the calculated stare and then to the cold hearted glare, this proved that Naruto was serious, but he was happy that Naruto knew who his parents were, Jiraiya took a breath and then spoke, "thank you Naruto, I don't deserve your forgiveness but I'm happy you chose too, I won't let you down, I'm also happy you know who your mother and father are, I have vowed to myself to stay by your side this time, I won't abandon you again, I will be in your corner for as long as I can be," Naruto smiled, Jiraiya smiled back and spoke again, "I know the chuunin exams are coming up and usually you would get training from your sensei but I would like to train you if that's okay?" Naruto smiled and said, "there's no rule of having multiple sensei's," Jiraiya smiled and then their ramen was put in front of them, they began eating their meals in silence, just enjoying eachothers company. After dinner, Jiraiya suggested that they go to the hot springs, Naruto agreed and they went, they found Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, Shisui, Itachi, Sasuke, Kakashi, and Shino already there, they started having small talk when Jiraiya and Kiba found something, Kiba spoke first, "this.... this... this had to have been left by the gods." Jiraiya agreed, this would be perfect for his research, Naruto was confused so he asked his godfather, "what research and what are you guys looking at," Jiraiya answered, "I write novels and I need things like this for my research," he then moved over and showed a peep hole to look at the women in the other hot spring. Jiraiya was proud of himself for finding it and thought that he might finally get one of his students to follow in his footsteps because Naruto got out the water and was walking towards the hole, Jiraiya was excited until Naruto used a towel to block the hole, Naruto then spoke, "A pervy sage and a pervy dog," he then shook his head, Jiraiya was sad that he couldn't turn another student into a pervert but it was okay because he was a super pervert, he then got ready to remove the towel and Naruto said, "if you remove that towel, you'll regret it," Jiraiya was confident he could handle it, Kiba was right next to him drooling, Jiraiya then grabbed the towel and was to late to see the seal on it for the Hiraishin, in the next moment, he and Kiba were teleported into the girls hot springs, everyone heard the screams of all the women and then the two men. After the guys finished, they walked outside and found the two beaten badly, Naruto shook his head and picked up the pervy sage with the help of Kakashi, Shisui and Shino grabbed Kiba and everyone went home.
