Sophie's POV

"Hey Soph, when we got the DNA results did they ever tell us if they found the fingerprints of another person?" Fitz asked.

"Well I don't remember it in the email, but I can check again." I go on my computer and look at the email scrolling all the way down to end up finding something new on the bottom.

Other DNA found:

Richard Beyers

Places where his DNA was found:

Back of shirt, bruises, both arms, pants near the back of knee and bottom of thigh.

"So it says that Richard has touched her. This was a confirmation that Richard was the one who had created the bruises. Although her shirt and pants? That's weird." Fitz nodded.

"We should get going." We both grabbed our stuff and made our way to Richard's house. We knocked on the door. He opened the door and groaned.

"When will I get you two off my ass?" I saw Fitz roll his eyes.

"When we solve the case about your dead wife. And that could be sooner than later if you give us the accurate information." Fitz spoke.

"I've already given you the information that you wanted."

"We didn't ask throughly and I doubt you gave us accurate information."

"It was accurate enough." Fitz sighed.

"Well it wasn't, may we come in?" Before Richard could answer, Fitz already made his way inside the house, I followed him.

"Fine. What do you want?"

"More answers. Now, we know you were the one who had caused the bruises on her face. Why?"

"I already told you. Anger. She was talking back to me." Fitz scoffed.

"And that gave you reason to hurt her?" Richard shrugged. "Is this the first time you've been physical with her?"

"No. It's happened a couple times before." Richard said.

"And what were you two doing before she left for her run?" I asked.

"We just had our argument." Richard answered.

"Really? Are you sure about that?"

"Yes."

"So then why did we find your fingerprints on her body?" He froze. He didn't say anything and not a single inch of his body moved.

"Richard, would you like to explain." He stayed silent.

"I think it's time for you guys to leave." We shook our head.

"Absolutely not. We're trying to find the cause of your late wife's death and we need answers from you. I'm sorry but we will not be leaving until we find the information that we came here for, and that is only from you. If you'd like, we can take you to the station and we can have a nice conversation there."

"No."

"Something to hide Richard?" Fitz asked.

"No. Leave."

"I'm afraid we can't do that."

"It's my house."

"It's our case we're trying to solve. You are the person with the information. If you're not guilty, then tell us."

"I'm not guilty." He looked down at the ground, and Fitz clasped his hands together.

"Then tell us the damn information. Or we will be taking this much more seriously."

"I don't have anything. I'm unsure why my fingerprints were on her clothes."

"How do you know if they were on her clothes?" Fitz grinned.

"Well she was fully clothed. Where else would it be?" You can feel the nervousness in his voice from a mile away.

"How do you know it couldn't have been under her clothes? Or maybe her arms. And how do you still remember what she had been wearing that day?"

"Well, I don't-"

"So then why are you making assumptions?" I asked.

"Look enough! I'm unsure why my fingerprints were on her body, it's probably wrong to something. And with the clothes part, it really doesn't matter."

"The DNA results are not false, although the information you're giving us right now is." Fitz said.

"Look I have nothing for you to gain information from. I know nothing. Nada. Okay?" Fitz and I shared a look and nodded.

"Fine. You won't be talking, but be expecting another visit from us." He rolled his eyes. Fitz and  I stood up and left the house. We made our way to our car and just sat there.

"So who's guilty?"

"Who knows? The way John was talking about it on the call sounded like he had done it. But then the way Richard acted as well also sounded as though he did it."

"Yeah. Richard was for sure lying. And the way he stayed silent was like he had been desperately been trying to come up with a good lie. He knows we're onto him. And with the way he was behaving did look like he was hiding or lying from us."

"So then who did it?" I shrugged.

"John is still very suspicious. The newspaper, the picture, the room with a bunch of death certificates that started from the 1930's... but then also Richard acting very suspicious about his late wife's death."

"Yeah. Maybe it was both of them?" Fitz said.

"I mean, it's not impossible. The two do know each other from several dinners together."

"Yeah, but we should talk more about it when we get to the station. Maybe list some more things and maybe end up coming to a conclusion?" I nodded my head and then we made our way back to the station.
