Taraji's POV

"Your grandmother is driving me fucking crazy," I spoke to Jussie as we both laid in my bed.

"Oh I can tell, she tryna throw a bingo night here," Jussie chuckled and stuffed his face with popcorn.

"I missed this," I rubbed Jussie's head, "thought you forgot all about me,"

"Mom I could never forget about you, I just needed some time to myself but now I can be all up in your space bothering you,"

I shook my head, "whatever boy, just because I love you,"

"Mom you never said if you actually like Tyrese or if you just want to fuck him?"

"Aye!" I slapped his head, "watch that mouth!"

He covered his face as he rolled off the bed. "Okay but mom I'm serious! You go on occasional dates with him but you don't seem interested,"

"Well who wants to be alone? I haven't made love in a while so hey," I shrug.

"You should be in love, like they way I love Damson,"

"Yeah and that's why you keep eye fucking my assistant?"

He threw a pillow at me as I laughed. "I do not , he's just an attractive man,"

"I'm too old to be in love boy, you have to find it while you're young and hold on," I grabbed some popcorn from the bowl Jussie left on my bed.

"Well if you would've done that and stuck with dad life would be hell,"

I shook my head, "don't talk about your daddy like that,"

"He would still be throwing my gay ass in trash cans," he rolled his eyes

"Well I would never throw you away, at this point my best friends are my son and my assistant and maybe my mom on a good day," I kissed his forehead before getting up.

"You never told me what happen on that accidental double date," my son followed me into the bathroom. I can't get no privacy around here.

"Since you and Keith must know, Fantasia's husband is just ridiculous so I had to go. But Tyrese was a gentleman and that's all that matter," I shrugged

"Alright I've got rehearsal real soon, I don't think I have many lines just yet but I still wanna be on set," I explained to Jussie as I walked towards my bathroom planning to get ready soon.

He sat on the top of the sink.

"I hope you have a good day. Let me know if Oprah try something because I'm all hands," he squares up

"Boy please, there's no drama. Please make sure your grandma don't turn my house to some retirement home. And get ready to drive me to rehearsal please,"

On the ride to the theater I thought of how excited I was to see everybody. I also thought of how tense and awkward things were a few evenings ago with Fantasia. I haven't heard from her since that night.

I plan on apologizing for being rude to her and her husband. Although I think walking out was necessary, I still want to talk to Tasia about it. But I thought texting or calling would make me think too much so I washed my thoughts of Fantasia away with Tyrese.
