The miners were captured by men from Victorian London and then brought to the extremely angry Mayor.

"None of this was supposed to happen. We didn't plan on abandoning the mission, but Emily was taken by pirates," says Thomas. Despite making an effort to explain the situation to the Mayor, their words fell on deaf ears. The Mayor's response was to have all involved parties imprisoned, except for Jinx. This decision was incredibly disheartening and left those involved feeling hopeless.

Upon being forced into the cell, Jack observed as he left Williams with a contented smile before departing the scene right away.

Earlier;

Williams receives the box from Huger. Right as they were preparing to depart, the armed men showed up and brought them all to the Mayor as requested. They whispered among themselves, questioning the Mayor's intentions. The men refused to provide the miners with anything. It wasn't until they came back to town.

Williams clenches his fists in anger. 'I can't believe Jack would do this to us!' he exclaims, gritting his teeth He takes a deep breath and continues, 'What's going to happen now?' The tension in the air is noticeable as they await the next move.

Later that evening, a stranger knocked on Jack's door, wearing a black dress that made him unrecognizable. Jack hesitated before opening the door, checking if anyone was watching him. Then, he peeked out of his room and made sure to close the door behind him. He raised the veil off his face.

"Williams got arrested along with the rest of the miners." Mr. Harrington lifts the teapot off the fire. He pours it into the cup on the table and takes a sip from it, glaring at Jack, who says nothing.

"I have already taken steps to ensure a reliable supply of coal from South America through trusted individuals. You can rest assured that there is no need to worry about the Mayor's concerns," as he drops the cup back on the table.

Jack was taken aback by Mr Harrington's sudden decision to allow other miners to go and retrieve the coal. This move came as a surprise to Jack, as it was never part of their original agreement. He couldn't help but wonder why he was not informed earlier about this new plan. The decision to let others mine the coal could have significant implications for Jack's mining operations.

"This is absurd, I will have to speak to the Mayor myself," Jack replies to Mr Harrington.

"You won't say anything about this to the Mayor. My only concern is that Williams and the other miners are already behind bars," he continues. "Your reward will be given to you for turning in your friends. Have a good night!"

As Mr Harrington slams his door.

Jack has a reputation for being extremely selfish. He is indifferent to the needs of both his family and friends. He is willing to go to great lengths to ensure that he gets what he wants. There were occasions in the company where he would add high prices to the mine materials to sell to the customers until the role was given to someone else

The one-eyed Butcher strides into the prison where Emily had been held captive. She was anxiously pacing around the cell when he spotted the rice pudding placed in front of her. Curious, he turns to one of the guards and inquires about it.

"How long has this been here?"

"For days," the guard replied.

"Ask those in charge of the kitchen to prepare something delightful for me and the guest," he said, smiling at her.

"Oh, Emily. You know I don't want you dead. Seems you didn't like the rice pudding."

Emily hardly acknowledges him, giving him only a passing glance without any real interest or attention.

"Look, the only reason why you are here is the cause of the treasure I'm looking for. Once it's all sorted out, you can always go back to your town."

Emily chuckles with a reply.

"Sybill, you must be joking if you think we know anything about the treasure you mentioned."

"We both have dinner later today. Don't be late." He spoke with authority, his voice ringing out as he commanded his guards to keep a watchful eye on her, ensuring she was under constant surveillance.
