Well, Dean wasn't really in love with Kaitlyn. He was just acting possessive with her to the fact that he was used to Kaitlyn's attention always on him ever since they were little. But yeah, he did love Jane. That's why when Jane attacked Kaitlyn after learning that Dean took her back, Dean didn't do anything to Jane.

He did abuse Jane later on because he couldn't accept the fact that he lost his child because of her.

With regards to Kyle... my plan really was for him to be just a side character.

As to why I'm a great author? I can't say I'm great, I'm still learning and maybe my type of writing suits your taste, hehe. Look forward for more stories! I write anything that comes to mind :)
