Dyed Hair

Merideth's Perspective

"Wanna dye your hair?" Allison asked as she got in the passengers seat. I got in and looked at her.

"I don't wanna go to the salon cause they cost like 100 dollars for unnatural colors." I said and started the engine.

"Then let's just go get dye from the Hot Topic in town. You could totally pull of a purple white." She said and bounced my hair in her hands.

"Okay. Isn't it down the street from the library?" I asked and put it in reverse. 

"Yep." I pulled out and put it in drive, driving towards Hot Topic.

"And when we're done we'll go to Ulta Beauty. And get our makeup supplies."

"Mkay." I pulled into the parking lot and shut off the engine.

We walked in and walked to the hair products. I ran my finger along the colors when my finger landed on RAW Lavender Cloud Demi-Permanent Hair Color. It looked really pretty. I pulled it off the shelf and turned around to face Allison.

"Perfect. Now we gotta get the tools for it." She said and grabbed the brushes and the small bucket to hold the dye.

We walked to the register and the man took the products. He scanned them and put them in a bag. 

"$54.64." I handed him the money and he put it in the register. 

"Have a great day." He said and handed me my bag.

"Thanks you too." We walked out the door and too my car. We got in and I started the car.

I rolled down our windows and turned up the radio. Jack and Jack's song Wildlife came on and we started to sing along. 

The song ended right as we pulled into my drive way. My dad's cop car was in the drive way and empty. 

"My dad's home." I said and turned off the car. We got off and walked in. 

"Dad! We're home!" I yelled.

"Who's we?" He yelled back.

"Allison and I!" 

"I'm in the living room." He said.

I walked in and he looked at me. His mouth widened.

"Like it." I put my hands under my chin.

"It's okay. But a little unexpected." He said and observed my piercings.

"I got for the formal tomorrow." I said.

"Formal are you going with a boy?" He rushed.

"No I'm just going with Allison as a friend." I said and Allison waved.

"Okay." He sat back down.

"Shit Allison we forgot to go get our makeup!" I whined.

"It's okay I can drive this time." She took the keys from my hand and ran out to the drivers seat.

"Bye dad!" I yelled and slammed the door behind me.

I got in the passenger seat and she quickly pulled out of the driveway. She sped to Ulta Beauty and parked.

We got out and walked in. We walked in and went to the eye section.

I got a black gel eyeliner pen, tan eye shadow, and black eye shadow.

"Great choice. Let's get brushes." She said and got a Chisel brush, a bluffing brush, and a blending brush. I grabbed the same things and walked to the lip products. I looked at the different colors and grabbed a black and a dark red. I turned to Allison and took off the caps. I held them to my lips and she debated. 

"Red. Now you help me choose." She held up a bright blue and a peach color.

"Peach. Now let's pay and go dye my hair. Then after school tomorrow we'll go to the store and get our dresses and shoes. " I said and started walking to the register.

"Wait! Let's paint our nails a matching color. To show that we're going in our own little pose." She said and grabbed a white nail polish. 

"Nice idea." I said and she caught up with me. The lady scanned the items and put them in a bag. 

"$23.49." She said. I gave her the money and we walked out. 

"Can you drive my head sorta hurts." I asked.

"Yea." We got in and drove home. We pulled up and my dad's cop car was gone.

"Ugh." I said and set me head on the dash.

"What's wrong?" Allison shut off the engine.

"Dad's got a late shift." I said and got out.

"Well the later the shift the stupid shit we getta do right?" She asked.

"Hell yea. But first my hair dye." I said and grabbed the bag.

"Fine with me." She said as we walked up to the door.

"Hopefully it comes out great. I really wanna make those bastards jealous." I said and unlocked it. I pushed the door in and walked to my room. She shut the door and followed me. 

"Do want me to do it or do you wanna do it yourself?" She asked.

"I know how to do it basic. But if you wanna make it edgy that's fine with me." I said and walked into the bathroom. I set the stuff on the counter and threw the bag away. 

"I'll do it. I know how to make it shadowy." She said and started to pour the dye in the bowl. She mixed it with the brush while I got a towel. I draped it over my shoulders and straddled the toilet and she started to apply the coloring.

~Time Skip~

The color had dried and she had covered my eyes and guided me to the mirror. She uncovered my eyes and I saw my hair. 

"I love it!" I yelled and messed with my hair. 

"Now, what do you like to do when your dad has a late shift?" She asked and started cleaning up the color.

"I normally get drunk. You drink?" I asked. 

"Yea. Whenever my mom is at her work and my dad and aunt are out dong whatever they do I still my dads Jack Daniels." She said truthfully.

"Well good I got a whole bottle of Jack Daniels down stairs. We can go on the roof and get drunk. And you can stay the night. You can borrow some of my clothes." I said and finished picking up the coloring. 

"Sounds great. You're probably gonna have to help me to class because I'll have a cruel hangover." She said and we walked down stairs.

"That's fine." I said and walked to the fridge. I pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels.

"Holy hell it's already 9!" She yelled and ran up stairs.
