Olivia's pov

We had travelled to Bristol early this morning and arrived at our hotel.

We relaxed for a few hours before making our way onto the coaches again to travel to the stadium.

It was a decent stadium and we could all tell, when we went to warm up, that the stadium was going to be full.

————————

The game begins and within seven minutes, Katie's managed to make the score 1-0. It was an incredible goal.

You could tell it was a one sided match. Arsenal had most of the possession, however, it all comes down to if Bristol are good at attacking.

Our lead didn't last long though, because less than ten minutes later, Bristol score.

The score remains like that all throughout the first half.

At half time, Jonas tells me that I'll be going on now.

I've been cleared to play half a match now, and then a full match in December time.

We walk back into the pitch, and huddle round for a quick team talk.

The ball was at an Arsenal players feet every time I looked to see where it was.

We were firing shots at the goalkeeper but they just weren't going in.

In the 58', we get a corner and Steph goes to take it.

Whilst Steph is walking over, I decide that I go to the back post and hover over there.

A Bristol player sees me free and comes to mark me.

As I try to move, she pushes me back quite violently.

Steph then takes the corner and I run to try get contact with the ball but the next thing I know, I feel two hands on my back and then hands viciously push me to the ground.

My whole face hits the ground with so much force behind it.

The stadium erupts and I'm guessing someone's scored but I couldn't concentrate with the pain in my head.

"Baby? Livvy? Are you — ref, we need medics!" I faintly hear less shout.

Even though she was next to me, it sounded like she was miles away.

"Less?" I ask, groaning at the pain as I spoke.

"It's me, baby. It's going to be okay. I know it's sore." Less whispers as she holds my hand.

I feel a warm liquid run down my cheek and I lift my hand up to see what it was.

As I lift my hand down to see what it is, I'm met with red everywhere on my hand.

"Don't worry, livvy. You'll be okay." Less whispers and the medics kneel down beside me.

Less disappears and I don't know what she did, but all I hear is Katie shouting for less to get off someone.

I wince in pain as the referee blows their whistle, I'm guessing to indicate that someone got a booking.

The medics decide that it's best if I'm stretchered off the pitch and the stretcher is called.

They place me on it and carry me off.

I'm taken through to the medical room where they clean and bandage my head.

The medics told me I'd be out for at least two weeks, meaning that I'd miss the England matches.

All month I've been looking forward to this week because I'd possibly get the chance to play for England again, and now I can't.

After reassuring them that I'm okay, the medics leave me and head back out to the pitch.

The realisation hits that I'll have to wait another month for an England match that I can play, and a tear rolls down my cheek, followed by another one and another one.

With the overwhelming injury, this pain that was still in my head, and the thought of having to wait another month, I was emotional and I couldn't seem to stop.

"Baby?" Less calls out

"Less? I'm here." I say, through the tears and soon enough, less appears with a worried look on her face.

"Oh, baby. I was so worried about you. Why are you crying?" Less almost cooes as she sees me

"I can't play the matches." I say, briefly going into detail about why I was upset, but less knew exactly what I was talking about.

"I'm so sorry, livvy. I made sure she got sent off." Less says, anger seeping through as she does.

"There's our concussed goal scorer and our yellow carded girls." Katie says as she walks into the room.

"Wait, You got a yellow card? And goalscorer? I didn't score." I point out

"Alessia here Pushed the other player over and you scored the header before you were pushed. The winning goal." Katie answered

"Lessi, why?" I ask and reach out to hold her hand.

"Baby, I was not having her do that to you." Less explains

"Thank you, my love." I say and smile at her

She starts to lean down and gently places her lips on my cheek.

"Look at you two lovebirds." Katie teases

"Go away, McCabe." I say and she leaves the room.

"I'm so glad you're okay, livvy. I was so worried." Less whispers. "And I'm sorry that you can't play, I'm so sorry, baby. I know how much you wanted to play them matches."

"It's not your fault, less. Don't say sorry." I tell her

"I love you so much, liv."

"I love you too, lessi."
