Chapter 6: The Amulet

That night as Caroline slept in her quarters she had the same dream she had a few days ago when she first discovered these powers.
Caroline climbed out the bed "Hello is anyone there?" Caroline whispered not really expecting a response, when suddenly she saw that woman again, the one from her first dream who wore the flaming gown "Caroline you must find and claim your birthright, the fate of the world depends on it" soon the dream changed from Carolines quarters in AEGIS to a museum, in front of her sat a case containing an ancient amulet, "You must find the amulet of Durrensvier, you must find it before Basilisk" Caroline looked around the dream hoping for a clue but it quickly dissipated and Caroline found herself standing in her living room.
After returning to bed she wrote down everything she found out and went back to sleep.  The next morning Caroline made her way to her small kitchenette and made some breakfast and then sat down to eat and look over her aunt's journal.
"Good morning did you sleep well?" Elizabeth said walking into the room peeling an orange.
"Not much from my aunts journal but I had a dream last night, it was a woman in a flaming gown, the same woman I saw the night before I got my powers." Elizabeth sat down and continued peeling her orange, "anyways she mentioned find the Amulet of Durrensvier, she called it my birthright" Caroline grabbed a note pad and quickly drew the amulet she saw in her dream.  Elizabeth looked at the drawing "wait I know this amulet, it's in a museum in Denver, good job Caroline I'll tell the director" Elizabeth stood up and walked out of the room, meanwhile Caroline continued looking through the journal.
"That's strange, what's this?" Caroline muttered to herself as she looked at the drawing of a piece of wall art depicting a woman surrounded by flames, a woman surrounded by ice, a woman surrounded by shadow and mysterious fourth woman that's faded and chipped away. Caroline finished her breakfast and set the journal back and headed to the command center.

Caroline made her way down to the command center, "ah Agent Williams your here" the director said gesturing her over, "Excellent work finding the amulet."
Caroline humbly "well I had the dream about what it looked like, it was Elizabeth who found the location sir" Elizabeth blushed a little bit at the praise.
The director pulled up the museum page for the amulet "So Agents how do you suggest we get the amulet because the world can't know we exist" Caroline thought to herself about a plan, undercover operation, me and Elizabeth go in undercover as researchers looking to study the amulet?"
Elizabeth meanwhile thought of a better plan "The museum is featuring a fundraising gala tomorrow night, so we go In undercover as prospective donors and use this opportunity to get the amulet, they'll most likely have it in a secure vault." Amelia said.
The director thought it over, "I like it, how about you Caroline this is your birthright so it's your call?" The director said looking at Caroline for an answer. 
"Elizabeth is the official agent so I like your plan it's more thought out" Caroline said supporting Elizabeth.  "Then it's settled, Caroline and Elizabeth will go in undercover as prospective donors to the museum, one of you will be a distraction well the other secures the amulet, we'll have a AEGIS quick response team on standby for backup should the need arise, alright then I'll brief the team, dismissed" Elizabeth and Caroline left the command center. 

"Caroline if you'll follow me?" Elizabeth said gesturing for Caroline to follow.  "Where are we going Elizabeth?" Caroline asked inquisitively, "we're going to a gala which means black tie formal so we need to get your measurements for a dress afterwards we'll go over our undercover aliases".

The girls made their way to the tailors workshop, responsible for all the bullet resistant suits and combat gear, upon arrival the tailor greeted them "Agent Moore, I didn't expect to see you down here today?" The tailor said leading them to a sofa, Elizabeth took a seat "We have an undercover operation planning and we need Caroline's dress measurements for an evening gown" the tailor understood and grabbed a pencil and sketchbook "Agent Williams do you have a style and color preference?" Caroline thought about it for a second "uh fitted and red" and with that the tailor got to sketching a dress design.
After several minutes the tailor finished his sketch and showed the girls, "Agent Williams if you could follow me" the tailor said gesturing to a mirror, Caroline followed and the tailor proceeded to take her measurements, "alright I should have this done by tomorrow afternoon just in time for your operation." The girls left and made their way back to Caroline's quarters.
"So Caroline for the operation tomorrow remember we're gonna be undercover so stick to your secret identity, it's important not to break cover" Amelia said as they went over their identities and Amelia taught Caroline how to secure the amulet, as they worked Caroline felt a strange connection to Elizabeth, she saw her as a friend someone who until recently Amelia had been and she felt Elizabeth thought the same as Elizabeth that the look that Caroline had when she looked at Amelia but Caroline couldn't bring herself to look at Elizabeth that way and instead she focused on the operation planned, tomorrow would be a big day so Caroline needed to focus.
