Chapter 10: The Daughter of Fire

Zoe backed up, she couldn't believe what she was seeing the Primordial form of the Dragon Flame. Caroline meanwhile was furious and as such her power continued to grow, as she stepped closer towards Zoe her feet burned imprints into the ground, meanwhile Amelia steadied herself after the shockwave and aimed her rifle at Caroline but as she tried to pull the trigger she felt something inside her stopping her and she instead stood up with her rifle and walked away.
"Caroline let your anger and hate flow, let it power the flame that burns inside you" Zoe said taunting Caroline as she heard police sirens approaching unfortunately for Zoe Caroline heard them too and went in for a punch sending Zoe flying into the surveillance van, Caroline slowly walked closer before blasting flames directly at Zoe who had previously activated her protective shielding but even that was starting to falter as the flames around her started burning into the metal of the van and burning parts of Zoes face. Zoe manages to escape by flinging a flash-bang which would temporarily distract Caroline long enough for Zoe to escape down the street, Caroline let out her hand which summoned a flaming whip that latched onto Zoe's legs and pulled her closer. Zoe began fighting back but after awhile realized this wasn't working and was only making Caroline more angry, and so Zoe backed away to formulate a plan before activating the Basilisk strike team nearby and began making her escape.

Caroline getting very angry by this point began unleashing fireballs into the Basilisk soldiers that had been hiding nearby as Zoe made her way to a nearby rooftop where she had a tranq rifle stashed but Caroline had other plans and let off another blast, incinerating the basilisk agents and causing countless injuries and city damages before she collapsed to the ground, her power had faded and she was on the brink of collapse. As Caroline stood up she looked around at the park and saw the destruction she caused and Sarahs body "Omg, no please don't be happening" Caroline said begging as tears fell down her face, as if things couldn't get worse, "Freeze Seattle PD, hands in the air" a police officer said as he stood there aiming a gun at Caroline with 12 other officers and a swat team aiming rifles. Elizabeth watched from the roof trying to get contact with the Director but all she got was static, when she finally got through she heard gunfire as the director and AEGIS soldiers fought back against Basilisk agents.

Caroline out of panic launched into the air and flew away, leading the police stunned, "Get the FBI on the line, tell them we have a fugitive" an officer said to another as they started clearing the scene. Elizabeth made her out of the building and to a nearby AEGIS safe house though a part of her worried if the safe houses were burned but at this point Elizabeth had to risk it and made her way to the house.
Upon arrival she made her way inside and grabbed a laptop, and some supplies and called up the bunker "come on pick up" Elizabeth said to herself, then just when she had near given up another agent called her "Agent Moore, thank God your alive, AEGIS is burned, Basilisk stormed the base, it's like they had spies among us, Agent Moore, Go to ground" Elizabeth began writing something down before signing off and making her way to one of her drop locations, once there she Grabbed a passport, Fake ID, some cash, and a burner phone before making her way to an airport to disappear.

5 Months Later, Caroline sat in a bar drinking a glass of whiskey and watching the news "An the manhunt for Caroline Williams continues on as the FBI continues its investigation into Seattle attack, now here with me today are Roger and Susan Williams the parents of Caroline and her sister Sarah who was one of the victims of the attack, what can you tell us about Caroline?" The reporter said passing the microphone to Roger and Susan "Caroline is a sweet and intelligent girl, we were completely shocked when the police showed up and told us Caroline had done something like this and it had resulted in Sarah's death, it's just unbelievable and if she's out there, please Sweetheart turn yourself in and explain your side of the story" Roger said to the reporter and camera crew before passing it back, as Caroline watched the news flames danced among her green eyes and she grew more furious that she was being blamed for the attack, suddenly a man sat down next to her. "Huh watching that Caroline Williams manhunt?" The man said ordering a beer, Caroline looked at him "Yeah, like how do they know it was her, it could have been anyone?" Caroline said trying not to draw too much attention. The man took a sip of his beer "Names Albert Winfield what's yours" Albert said offering a hand, Caroline hesitated "Uh Victoria Carter" the man took another sip "we'll Miss Carter what brings you to sunny Maine" Albert said jokingly. Caroline stood up and placed some money on the bar "investigating something personal to me" Albert set his beer aside and looked at the money "Mind if I tag along?" Albert said, Caroline looked at him "Try and keep up" Caroline said walking out of the bar.
