317. [Na-Ra's side - She talks to Mr. Park while Jungkook excuses himself to the restroom]

Na-Ra hadn't expected her conversation with Mr. Park to go south this quickly. She was so furious and felt embarrassed on his behalf when she learned that he was Jungkook's legal guardian.

As she stood staring at Mr. Park's disappearing form, she couldn't help the rage that was mounting inside of her.

That cunning low born mutt! He must have done something.

Sponsoring someone was one thing but allowing them to call dad as if he was your son. In her opinion, a low born shouldn't be even allowed to be anywhere around them. Let alone allowing them to sit and mingle with them. She growled low under her breath as she approached him earlier.

She couldn't stomach the thought of a low born calling someone with a high stature as dad. Even she didn't have that permission. It was Uncle Park in a private setting and Mr. Park in public. That was how she was supposed to address him.

Na-Ra expected him to provide her with an explanation in the least or feel ashamed for what he had done. Only she hadn't expected him to cut her off like that.

She replayed the conversation in her mind, wondering if she said something wrong.

"I mean... You really do have a big heart to take someone like him under your wing. And you also know how to cover your bases. Money certainly does wonders, doesn't it? It makes sense why he stepped up to give his statement against Jun-Myeon. His loyalty is admirable. There's a lot I have to learn from you. You know how to bend people at your will. If I were you, I wouldn't have spent too much on him. He's a bit expensive, don't you agree? Mutts like him would wag their tail if you drop them a few crumbs. But I can see how far you'd go for Jimin. He's really lucky to have you as his father."

Na-Ra would have gotten away with it if it was Mrs. Park, but this alpha was a different scenario altogether. While Mrs. Park never voiced out her disdain toward them outwardly, she never stopped others from bad mouthing either.

Mr. Park's eyes, however, had gone dangerously dark upon hearing her. His scent shifted with a spicy undernote that should have served as her warning.

"You're mistaken, Na-Ra. I'm the fortunate one to have Jimin as my son. And you got everything wrong about Jungkook too. He's not someone you can buy with money. His loyalty has to be earned and not bought. He's here because he wants to. Jungkook is admirable because he's courageous, brave and strong to stand up for himself. I'm just standing behind him as I should. And do not use that word again in front of me."

Na-Ra should have remembered her place and minded her words next but she'd been so furious that Mr. Park spoke highly of that low born and was taking his side. All these years and she'd achieved several things but he never said anything beyond congratulations or all the best.

"Oh, right. I forgot you're a Regular Wolf Rights enthusiast. My bad. Still, it's a bit too much to let someone like him call you dad. I don't think Jimin would appreciate it. He's possessive and Mrs. Park wouldn't appreciate it either."

Mr. Park had smirked, his eyes narrowing with a glint of something she couldn't decipher. "It's not your place to tell me what I should or shouldn't do. And Jimin is my son. I think I know my son better than anyone else. Your dislike for regular wolves is obvious. My wife might share similar sentiments because of her upbringing, but my son and I are someone who fights for equality and betterment of their lives. As for my wife, she and I might not agree on most of the things, but she'd understand and definitely wouldn't question me like this. And she most certainly wouldn't disrespect me or my beliefs."
