Chapter 11
Nova
It feels like I'm the only working on this project. But that's because I am. Travis was too busy chatting away his last brain cells about a party he's throwing this weekend for Halloween.
"It'd be nice if you help," I say grabbing his attention.
He turns with the brightest smile on his face. "Why? When I have a pretty partner do it for me."
"It's a two person grade meaning if I'm doing all the work I'm only getting half credit." I make clear. If I only get half the grade for this huge assignment my grade is gonna drop down to a C and I can't let that happen.
"I can give you the other half of credit," he leans in and I quickly peel away feeling disgusted.
"Is there any way that I can work on my own or with someone else?" I ask desperately when I approach the teachers desk.
He looks up over his computer. "Everyone else is already partnered Nova."
"Okay, well can I work on my own?" I say in an annoyed tone. "You and I both know Travis isn't going to do a thing."
He sighs, pulling at his hair before agreeing. I eagerly walk back to my seat and start on a new poem.

"Ugh, I feel like we haven't talked in forever," Mira says as she takes her seat next to me in the lunchroom.
"It was just the weekend and we easily could've called each other," I laugh eating apples.
The only good thing my school served for lunch was the fruit and cheese burgers, they have tacos every once in a blue moon and everyone loves them.
"Right but we didn't," she scoffs. "I have tea."
She grabs both my hands. "Remember that guy I was telling you about?"
"Vaguely," I say trying to rack my brain.
"Anyway, we went on a date turns out he was already in a relationship with another girl, She pulled up to his house while I was there and I thought I'd have to drag the bitch but she ended up dragging him outside and beating him herself. Best way I've seen a girl react to her man cheating on her," she rants and it's actually surprising that Mira didn't make another enemy.
I almost say I'm sorry but she doesn't look the slightest upset.
"You didn't hate him afterward?" I ask confused.
"I did for a split second but seeing him get fucked up like that," she starts to laugh. "It actually made me feel better."
I shrug. Okay. My eyes scan the cafeteria. I haven't seen Sean today and he wasn't in class. I hope nothing happened.
"Are you still looking for Sean?" Mira asks reading my mind.
I scoff but it was already too late to play it off. "No."
"That boy has you wrapped around his finger," she says and my eyes roll.
"That boy also ate me out," I say unintentionally and she gasps out loud.
