4 Years later: January 2nd 2023
(Y/n) had just turned 18 on December 28th 2022 and was in his final year of college studying his A-Levels and to put it lightly, he hated everything.
After he had ditched his "friends" for what happened that day he never recovered socially and became somewhat of a recluse. At first he was fine and didn't mind being alone much, but being alone can quickly turn to loneliness especially as a teenager.
(Y/n) had all but abandoned music, determined to provide everything he could for his mother for everything she had done for him. Knowing his success was far from possible in the industry he decided becoming a businessman would be the only way for him to achieve his goal. But on his way home he got a call.
"Get your ass home now you little shit, I have a surprise"
His mothers voice rang through his ears before being met with the familiar sound of the call ending.
(Y/n) smiled slightly, his hood covering his head as his music played through his ears once again. After another 40 minutes, (Y/n) arrived home.
"Whats up you old fart"
He joked as he stepped through the door.
"That's no way to speak to your newly promoted mother now is it?"
(Y/n) laughed and grinned as he hugged his mum, his little brother still at school.(Y/n) looked at his mum inquisitively
"That's not the surprise is it?"
He knew she wouldn't rush him home, even for something like this a pay increase was a big deal but not a surprise per say.The woman rolled her eyes
"No shit, but we're moving"
She grinned as her son's expression grew into a wide smile."No fucking way! Where to?!"
(Y/n)'s voice bounced off the hollow walls as his excitement grew. His face unable to mask his sheer joy."Ah... about that. Korea..."
(Y/n)'s eyes grew wide. His face changed to one of shock, what promotion could possibly lead to such a big change in location? More to the point. What about his A-levels, his brothers school and friends. Their family. His worry was evident and his mother could read him like a book."Your brother has chose to stay with his dad. We told him first. Figured it was better to let him get adjusted to the idea sooner. We'll be able to visit and he'll come to stay with us on holidays!"
(Y/n)'s hand rested on his head as he thought, a fresh start would be nice, a change of scenery would be amazing and it would be like he was on one big new adventure and he couldn't think of anything better than that. He could finally be himself again.
"Cool, but why korea? We don't speak the language..."
The boy- or rather the young man, deadpanned as he said this. How would they get by without speaking the language. Surely his mum was aware of how ridiculous it sounded."For such a bright boy you're an idiot, there is this thing called 'learning', y'know that thing you do everyday? That's how you'll speak the language shit for brains."
The pair laughed and shared their excitement over the life changing events that were going to take place.
"But get packing we leave in 3 weeks"
"Huh?"Luckily for (Y/n) he, under these rare circumstances was able to request his A-levels early, doing a different set of papers to what his peers would be doing to ensure they wouldn't be able to cheat from him, he would receive his results later in the year after the move. His mothers company had helped with the visa application process and arranged accommodation as well as recommended language tutors to help lessen the load, which was kind considering the usual actions of businessmen in this shithole country his belongings were packed and his valuables (his pc setup) was ready to be shipped. He had no need to say goodbye, he had no notable people other than his family who had already said their farewells all that was left to do was two long ass flights, cope with jet-lag, learn a new language... okay there was a LOT to do but, it would be new and exciting.
(Y/n)'s brother stood before him.
"Promise you'll come visit?"
His face was laced with sadness.
"Of course. Can't miss too much or you might forget me. Maybe I'll have to do something drastic so that you see me everywhere. Then you definitely won't."
They embraced in one last hug (Y/n) whispering the words
"You're so brave, you'll go far. Do us proud."With tears threatening to fall, (Y/n) looks down at his brother, a hand rested on his head refusing to cry as to not upset him.
"Yo Max."
(Y/n)'s little brother looks back
"It's okay to cry."
And with that, (Y/n) and his mum board the plane, leaving Max to exit the airport with his dad, tears streaming down his face in both sadness and happiness.
He needed to hear that.(I feel like the chapters after this will drastically improve. I feel a bit weird rushing the process, but I'd rather cover stuff like this later on. So please give me a chance 🙏)
