"Damn what the fuck this is a massive upgrade"
(Y/n) was stunned. He knew that housing was expensive in the UK but this was insane, the amount of space they had in their new home was so much more impressive and his face was by no means hiding that fact. His mum would probably argue this was the happiest she'd seen him in longer than she'd care to admit. She knew the change would do him some good, but so soon was... unexpected to say the least.

"Language. But you aren't wrong. How about you go find your room and I'll unpack some of the appliances."
His mum's voice as grounding as ever, made (Y/n) calm down off of his little spike in energy and go exploring the new house, heading upstairs in search of his new room.
After a little trial and error, the opening of a cupboard and a bathroom. (Y/n) finally found his room, it was spacious and had his stuff packed in boxes, so eager to touch his precious things again, he jammed his finger into the box and tore it open, clothes spilling out as he did. He took some time hanging them up in his new built-in wardrobe, which was a lot bigger and would need filling so it wouldn't be bare. Not that he minded the shopping.
Next was... his most precious, important belongings. His PC and iPad. The duo allowed him to play games, and create music through a little app known as GarageBand. Yes. He used Garageband. He, however, had no desk so some furniture shopping would be in order. However, before another thought could be spared for his precious electronics. He was called downstairs by his mother.

As he descended the stairs, (Y/n) heard a familiar voice echoing against the wall as if he was there, and before long he was staring at his little brother on his mum's iPad as he was showing her his new Lego set.

"Hey Max, you alright mate?"
(Y/n) said with a fondness to his voice, he was pleased to see his brother was feeling okay, Max's dad must've treated him to the Lego after they departed so he would cheer up. A Ninjago set. Good taste from the little man he learnt well.
The estranged family engaged in a long talk that lasted up until it was time for (Y/n) and his mother to figure out what was for dinner. And with a reluctant goodbye from both sides of the world, the call ended.
Now neither mother nor son could be bothered cooking, so KFC it was, couldn't go wrong there. So they ordered and as they waited, talked about how their days went.

"You never told me you worked for a music label"
(Y/n) stated boldly, as if calling out his mother, he never meant to, his tone of voice was a result of a terrible lack of social interaction in the past few years. He'd slip up like this frequently. And after seeing his mums gaze harden at it he shifted uncomfortably in his seat and apologised.

"I was actually in marketing and pr. One of the bosses managed to get me a spot at HYBE since I had a specific goal for my career and he wanted to help me out"
(Y/n) looked curiously at his mother as she said this, what goal could possibly result in them moving to the other side of the world? However, as well as she knew him. He knew she wouldn't spill if she hadn't brought it up previously. She was hiding something from him.

"Rachel told me about your little concert in my office"
The woman smirked at her sons reaction, one of horror as his water sprayed from his nose. She was glad he was interested in music again, (Y/n) used to live and breathe it before he got in with those rats from his school. Seeing how they left him after the incident broke her heart, no mother wants to see their child in such a deep pit of despair and she was no different. Especially considering he was truly talented. She couldn't let him waste it. Not for her sake.

"Yea... I'm thinking of picking it back up again... think it could be good for me. Make the move easier. Also I want to start learning Korean as soon as possible. The canteen was terrifying without it. Felt like everyone was looking or talking about me."
His face looked down. His social anxiety always got the better of him now. It had gotten better since his final year of college. But his mind was still easily overstimulated by a lot of things. People being one of them.
"Of course. I'll see if I can get you a tutor with my company benefits. But no one was talking about you. Everyone at the company is there to help. Wouldn't blame them for looking though, my offspring is good looking."
She smirked again as (Y/n) chuckled, she was always good at cheering him up. Especially when he was overthinking.

And as if on cue as the topic died, their food arrived and they indulged in the absolute god tier food founded in Kentucky. Thank the lord for the colonel.

"Oh by the way. My boss said he wanted to meet you. Your little showcase turned more than just Rachel's head. So I suggest you get some sleep tonight instead of indulging in the temptation of a 3am bedtime, you'll have plenty of time for that once we're fully settled. Also, we'll go furniture shopping this weekend I'm not neglecting you, just need the time off to do it properly."
(Y/n) nodded, he was intrigued to hear about what his mums boss could possibly want. But whatever it is, it was stirring something inside him. He didn't know if it was anxiety, excitement or passion. But it was something and it was only going to grow stronger. But (Y/n) didn't know that.

After a little more idle chatter, the mother and son head to their respective rooms to sleep. Luckily they came pre fitted with a fairly comfortable bed. Which would still need changing but, baby steps. (Y/n) however, couldn't sleep. His mothers words lingered on his mind stinging his thoughts like a swarm of hornets. No matter what he tried, they just kept attacking. Both negative and positive, 'what if he tells me I can't go back?', 'maybe he was impressed'.
A mess of emotions stirred up inside of him, and without realising it. (Y/n) had opened garage band and was going through his old projects, hoping they hadn't been corrupted. This continued for the next few hours until the young man passed out whilst sat up.

The next day: January 24th 2023

"WAKE UP SUNSHINE WE HAVE A BOSS TO MEET!"
(Y/n) jumped awake as his mum was banging a saucepan with a spoon watching as she ran back out of the room.

Thats a grown ass woman. Was all he could think watching her get up to her mischief. At least he knew where he got it from.

After getting ready, making sure his hair was a 'tamed' mess and his clothes were... they were definitely clothes

And after ensuring they were both ready, (Y/n) and his mother left for the HYBE building.

Heading straight up to meet the boss, passing Rachel with a smile on the way. The pair reached a tinted glass door and his mother knocked gently.

"Come in."
(Y/n) watched as his mum walked in respectfully bowing

"Ah. You must be the (Y/n) we've heard so much about. We have a proposition for you following your stunt yesterday."
