Swear on the orange tulip.

Eos gave birth to two beautiful beings. Kitsu and Akina, our baby girls. When she held them for the first time, we knew the names were perfect. Eos had chosen them for my Japanese culture, and loved the meaning of spring flowers and orange.

"Our real life orange tulips," she had commented, before falling asleep after labor.

Our own orange tulips. A spring flower in the most energetic color. Fitting, for the amount of energy they seem to have in order to cry so much. I gently move their cradles side to side, enjoying the first quiet moment we've had in a while.

"Tea?" Eos asks as she appears in the doorway to the nursery.

I smile and walk over to her quietly, doing my best to not wake up the babies.

"Ginger?"

Eos' face softens, "it's a powerful tea."

I take a sip, and put the cup down. Eos looks up at me, seriousness etched into her porcelain features.

"Matsuho," She questions. "What would you do if I died?"

What type of question is this? My thoughts are moving at a rapid speed, a train missing multiple stops as it goes two hundred miles an hour.

I sputter, "W-what type of q-question is this?"

"An honest one."

I think upon the question and after a couple seconds, give my answer.

"I would do whatever I can to make sure our babies remember the woman who birthed them."

Eos smiles at that, and she peeks into the nursery whispering, "Our orange tulips will know why their orange tulips."

I chuckle softly, and pull Eos into me once more, "I swear on the orange tulips, that they will forever know why their name is so sweet."

I'm given a quick peck as a response to that statement.

"Bambi, what type of kiss was that?"

I quickly sweep her up into a longer, more passionate kiss. Eos struggles for two seconds, before relaxing into the kiss. As I release her, she bursts out laughing.

She hits me playfully. "Honey~" She pouts, "I wasn't ready."

I grin, and as our focus returns to the twins, I swear the orange tulips on the windowsill seem to shine ever so brighter. Almost iridescent as we feed them love and care.
