I'm working on a Rusame oneshot that is technically an Angel AU, but it's a bit more complicated than that. Hence why there's a whole-ass info chapter.
In this AU, there are two types of angels: Venus Angels and Mars Angels.
Venus is the Roman goddess of love, beauty, and lust among some other things. Majorly she represents love, so that's what the Venus angels represent.
Mars, on the other hand, is the Roman god of war, and interestingly enough, and agricultural guardian. Overall, the Mars angels represent hate.
Venus and Mars were a couple in Roman mythology.(This was based off of the Greek equivalent, Aphrodite and Ares, who have a slightly more interesting backstory, but I wanted to use Venus and Mars for this story.) I've expanded the myth a little, merging the story with the Chinese folk tale The Cowherd and The Weaver Girl** and adding some of my own things.
**The Cowherd and The Weaver Girl is a story of, well, a cowherd and a weaver girl, who fell in love with each other. But their romance was forbidden, so they were banished to opposite sides of the "heavenly river" aka the Milky Way. Every year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, a bridge of magpies forms between the two of them and they get to be together for that one day.
Basically, as a couple, Venus and Mars caused so much chaos together(bc can you imagine being fueled by really strong love and hate at the same time? that's how wars start lol) that other divine beings in this universe(not specified, they're not important) had to seperate them. Venus and her angels were placed on one side of a floating island, Mars and his angels on another.
Venus angels were taught to hate the Mars angels, and vice versa. They're not allowed to talk or touch each other. Let alone fall in love.
And then you have the stars of our oneshot, America and Russia.
America is a Venus Angel, and Russia is a Mars Angel. They weren't supposed to know each other, but they do, and they're in love. And they do both know it's mutual. America's all for starting a secret, illegal relationship, but Russia's... um... a bit more hesitant because... I'm not spoiling.
I'll make some references for the characters in the future, but for now, I think I'm just gonna crack a shot at describing their clothing(Body apperance is up to interpretation for now.) You should probably look up the terms I used if you want to picture their design at all😅
America's appearance(based off the men's attire from colonial America):
- Azure blue eyes
- White/off-white colonial shirt
- Cornflower blue waistcoat(Colonial waistcoats are actually called vests today, look it up)
- Navy breeches
- White stockings
- Black buckle shoes
Optional: Add a black tricorn and/or a cravat the same color as the shirt
Russia's appearance(based off of traditional Russian clothing):
- Crimson eyes
- Body build is similar to America, although maybe some more muscle just because
- Deep blue kosovorotka with red and gold lining
- Gold/red waist tie
- Black shtany
- Black onuchi
- Brown boots
Optional: Add a ushanka or treukh, or a brown kaftan

Venus are white wings with red tips, as you can see. Their signature weapon is a bow and arrow cause... cupid stuff
Mars angels have black wings with red tips. I think the thing I drew for them is called a scepter, yet I picture them using it like a club XD
I don't have a full list of trigger warnings yet, since I'm not done writing the oneshot yet. I'll put the full list at the beginning of the actual oneshot. I DO know that there's gonna be genocide, blood, angst, and a shit ton of swearing. Hooray :D
Technically, Venus and Mars is still supposed to be a oneshot. It just requires a FUCK ton of explanation. That's why it's still under CH oneshots but kinda as a subset
