First chapter! Are you ready? Here we go!

                                      •••

While the O'Neil sisters were both a force to be reckoned with, the two of you couldn't be more opposite.

April O'Neil, the determined and strong-willed older sister, who always had something to say. If she wanted something, she was going to get it, no matter how much it took. She was never afraid to speak up, stand by her word, or be straight forward.

Which leaves Y/n O'Neil. She had always been quiet, except for when she was around April. She could be snappy and cold if you messed with the people she cared about, but for the most part she kept to herself. She had a naturally quiet voice and timid demeanor.

While the age gap between April and Y/n was merely 4 years, they were inseparable, both considering each other the most important people in each other's lives.

After Y/n graduated high school, she began shadowing her sister in her journalism work, tagging along everywhere she went. Y/n herself wanted to be a photographer, so taking photos while April worked was excellent practice.

And to think, if it wasn't for the mix of their two personalities, Y/n would have never met him.

Leonardo.

Your camera sat steady in your hands, angled towards the cluster of trampolines. You snapped a few pictures from beside the actual camera man, Vern, and patiently watched as April spoke and worked with the exercise coach.

You couldn't suppress a small giggle when the man said something about fat birds.

When everything was done and finished, you clambered into the back of the Channel Six news van, allowing the two elder adults to sit in the seats.

You adjusted yourself to sit on the uncomfortable floor, before you sift through the photos you'd taken.

You could hear April's irritation as she spoke. "Four years of journalism school, Vern. To do that." She grumbles.

Vern's fingers gently drummed the steering wheel as he drove through the streets of New York City. "Oh come on, O'Neil! People love that kind of stuff. They need it!"

"Why would they need that?" April retorts.

You set your camera to the side, joining the conversation. "Maybe you're being too hard on yourself." You say.

"I'm not!" Your sister shoots back.

"You're giving people something...something nice. Something good and positive to start the day with." Vern argues, only making your sister  scoff.

"Whatever." April mutters coldly, instantly causing the lot of you to stop the conversation.

When you and April had arrived at your shared apartment, she'd retreated to her room, staring at her phone as she dialed a phone number you didn't recognize.

Sighing, you fall back on to the couch.

You really did feel bad for April. She had worked so hard to get where she was at the moment, and it really wasn't what she wanted. You were never good with words, so it was hard to come up with a way to make your sister feel better.

You could hear the muffled voice of your sister talking to someone on the phone, but not well enough for you to make out complete sentences. You could only pick up a few words and phrases, like 'docs' and 'everything you need.'

When April had emerged from her room, no longer on the phone, she had strapped her bike helmet on, and was sliding into her leather jacket. "I'm going to Brooklyn on a lead."
