Damien's POV (Polar Bear)After Noel went inside I remained in the car with Eliza.
"Why didn't you tell her?" he asked turning a little to look at me.
"It's not something to worry her pretty head about" I said.
"But it concerns her"
"I won't let anything happen to her Eliza, I'd rather die than let them get to her" he turned back.
"Have you found them?"
"No leads yet, Thomas tried tracing where the message came from using crypto but it lead to a wall" he said.
For the past two weeks we've been trying to find the men who attacked us that day at the carnival to no luck.
In this industry the most dangerous enemy is the unknown one, because you never know when they'll strike.
In the morning I got a threat and I have every reason to believe it came from the guys that attacked us.
They are the only ones acting so mysterious at the moment and I won't lie it was getting to me.
"Thomas can't bypass the wall?" I asked.
Thomas was our most skilled hacker, if he had trouble with something as simple as bypassing a firewall then it meant it was not so simple.
He shook his head.
"No, he's been trying non stop, he's not familiar with the language used to code for that wall" he said a little defeatedly.
"Try by all means to trace that message, the sooner you do the sooner we find these fools" I said preparing to get out of the car.
"Roger" he said then I went inside.
I wanted to get water from the kitchen but thinking about the events of the day, something a little stronger would work.
I grabbed a bottle of whiskey along with a glass and took a seat at the kitchen island.
Luca walked in after a while, he paused then looked at me dumbly.
"Wow, whoever wronged you?" he asked going to the pantry and took out snacks enough for a whole village.
"It's none of your business" I said lowly then loosened my tie, it was suffocating me for some reason.
"Rude"
I ignored him.
"Where's Noel?" I'm sure she must be mad at me, I ignored her the whole way after I shut her up.
I don't even understand why I did that.
My little girl was just concerned.
"She's sleeping upstairs" he said then I stood up.
"You are going to wake her up?" Luca asked and I didn't have the power to reply so I just glanced at him and went upstairs.
"Noel" I said knocking softly on her door.
When I heard no reply I went inside. She was still sleeping, her hair all over the pillow and her face.
She sure loved mismatched clothes.
I went and sat on her bed, she stirred a little but didn't wake up. I removed the hair from her face.
'Take care of the blue eyed princess, it would be a shame if anything were to happen to her'.
That was the content of the message I received this morning.
My blood boiled when I realized they were using Noel to get to me and it was working.
