Chapter 10

Back in the present

Now touya and rei were both sitting in the bed. Rei had abandoned her blue roses since she saw her own son holding her hand with tears running down his face. She slowly moves a strand of hair from his forehead and place a kiss there. And they both sit in a comfortable silence. Rei then pulls Touya down by his shoulders and made him lie down on her lap.

Touya pov

The whole room was enveloped in a comfortable silence. Then after some time I got up from her lap to face her and told her that I needed to show her something to which she only nodded. So I used my quirk to make a small ice flower and slowly placed it in her hand. She stared at his like he was some ghost. " y.. you have both fire and ice?" She asked to which I said yes. Then I explained everything that happened after my so called death and she listened to it like a small child listening to its mother telling a story.

After the explanation she looked shocked, I mean who wouldn't be shocked if they had heard my life story but in the end she was glad that her son returned to the right side. Few minutes of silence later "Are you dating anyone?" She asked, trying to find out more about her son's, aka my personal life. Hearing this question Touya turned reader than a tomato. Rei seemed to notice this and ask "is that a yes?" All I did was turn away from his mother to hide his blushing face. "Who's the lucky girl?" She ask me and all I did was look at her with a guilty expression. Then she ask again "who's the lucky boy?" Ahh she found out. "Touya you're my son and a will never hate you for such trivial things" mother said looking me dead in the eyes. "You know hero number two, hawks. We've been dating for almost a year" I say my face was completely flushed.

Then there was a knock on the door. Mother asked whoever was outside to get in. The next second the had door opened a few inches and I saw ochako put her head through it. "Sorry to interrupt you guys but me and Touya San have to leave now" She said looking guilty. Mother tells Ochako to enter the room completely and  asked her who she was and how she knew me. Before she could say something I answered " she is my first and only friend in UA. She is also the one who kept on bugging me to come here" after mother heard this she thanked ochako for taking care of me and for bringing me to meet her. Then she turned to me and told "she seems nice,  next time you come bring her along. I would like to know my son's best friend . Maybe even bring your boyfriend, I would like to meet the person who made my son fall head over heel for him." Ochako cut me off before I could say something and told my mother "next time I will come here for sure and we can properly meet then. And I would like you to keep touya's return a secret, if that's ok."

Mother was very understanding of my  situation and agreed. Then ochako and mom had some small talk like I was not even in the room. Wow, my mother right now is acting like she hasn't seen her son, who she though was dead after almost a decade after meeting his (my) best friend. And truth be told, I was jealous of how well ochako got along with my mother. It was like this girl could charm anyone into getting along with her using her kindness and sweet talk, but I was glad that she had that ability because if she didn't, I wouldn't have a best friend and I wouldn't even care about reconnecting with my family.

After a while I interrupt their conversation and remind ochako that she has interrupted our connecting time, saying that we had to leave. When she realized what I had said, she looked at me guiltily and turns to my mom to say goodbye, which she returned with a sad smile. I sigh and turned to my mother and say "I'll see you next week, ok. I'll bring Ochako too." Hearing this both of them perks up happily and then we leave.

"Why did we have to leave chako" I ask just as we exited the hospital. But before she could answer, a voice answer from behind us "because I begged her to." I could recognize that voice from anywhere, so without turning back I say " hey birdie, what's up". I turned back to see him smile sheepishly. Turns out he was happy that could I recognize him by just his voice. I was happy to see him too so I pull him in, holding him by his waist and kissed him. He immediately kissed back and used his wings to cover us so that people wouldn't pry.

"Wow, what PDA. It's unfair for us single people y'know" Ochako says sarcastically making hawks break the kiss and turn back fully flustered. "C'mon chako, don't be jealous just because I got the guy i like to my boyfriend and you couldn't get the same." I say. With that she leaves angrily. She looked  like red bean paste mochi, (which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Only my personal opinion.) red with anger. I knew I had touched a nerve and that she would snap at me, if I or in this case anyone with a significant other tried to talk to her. It has been like this ever since broccoli boy got together with the daughter of allmight's friend. So I just let her leave.

"Birdie, what can you do to make up with your best friend after angering her to the point that she doesn't want to talk to you?" I ask Hawks looking genuinely worried. "Get her something she would like I guess" he replied. "Well are you free now. Is that why you're here" I ask him but in return he just give me a small but sad smile. I worry at his expression. "How did you come here?? Did you fly or- I drove here" he said interrupting me. I look around and finally spot his car. I grab his hand and pull him towards the car, open the door to the passenger seat and made him sit inside. I shouldn't argue with his in front of the hospital after all he was the number two hero. And he had a lot as fans. Then I go towards the drivers seat and sit there. Then I turn to him and try to say something when he turned his head to look down. So I grab his cheeks and cup his face in my palm. "Keigo look at me. Tell me what's wrong" I ask him not letting him face away from me.

Sorry for the abrupt stop but that's it for today I guess.

Guys why do I feel like ochako and touya have a very good chemistry, or maybe I'm being delusional. Well byeeeeeee
