Villain rehab

Chapter 24

Touya pov

As I was patrolling nothing looked amiss to me but I had this gut feeling that something was wrong. I look around for a bit. The market wasn't as crowded as it should be on Sundays. It was easier to see where people are. So I search for Yumi. After a few minutes I still don't see her, so I start to panick. I stroll around still looking for her and asking people if they had seen a girl with white hair with red streaks. After asking several people one person told me that he saw her going into a alley.

I go to the alley and see Yumi surrounded by two villains, she looked scared and her eyes were tearing up. "Hey leave her alone, As*hole" I say turning all their attention to me. One villain charged towards me and I trip him with me ice. But the second one seemed to have another idea. I needed to get Yumi and get out of here. He immediately grabbed her hands and started pulling her away. She was struggling to break free. I ran towards them and hold him in the same arm that he was holding Yumi in. Then I slowly use my fire and burn him slowly. He yells and yanks his hand away.

I hold Yumi and move back from both out them creating a small wall between us and the villain. Right now my biggest priority was my sister and not the fight I had in front of me. I hold her in a protective way. I kept one hand near her head and the other prepared to attack.  She looked very startled and scared. Fuck keeping my identity a secret, I thought. "Don't worry Yumi, you big brother won't let them hurt you. You're safe" I tell her in a soothing voice. "Touya nee?" She asks in a small voice. "Yeah Yumi it's me" i tell her reassuring her.

She turns around and buries her head in my chest, seconds later I could hear few sobbing noises from her. "Shh. It's alright Yumi. I'm here now. No one will hurt you" I tell her to soothe her while also caressing her hair. Suddenly the wall of ice that I had made shattered revealing two more villains. Shit I thought. This was going to be harder than I thought. I create a thicker wall of ice around Yumi and turn to face the villains in front of me.

One guy attacks me with a tree quirk, which I instantly burn to ash. Then few more attacks flew at me which I deflected with my ice. I sent a counter attack with my ice and covered the place we were standing with a layer of ice. They all lose their balance and fell. I trap them to the floor using ice shackles and made a call to send some heroes to my location.

I then melt the barrier I had created around Yumi and find her crying. Her eyes where all red and she was lightly sniffling. I pull her into another hug and say "let's go home." She looks at me with surprise but instantly cheers up and pulls me along as she finishes her shopping. Then we both return home and she goes to the kitchen while I go to Tou San. "What happened to your face?" He asked just as I entered. That's when I realized that I had a cut above my eye. But I answer his questions by illustrating the whole evening. As I finished the story, he looked at me with a proud smile. "Good work, son" He said while again ruffling my hair. This gesture made me feel like a kid again but I didn't mind, I liked it to be honest. I just let out a chuckle and tell him that I'm going to check on Yumi and then return back.

I go to the kitchen to Yumi making soba, which was both mine and shoto's favorite. I silently go and stand beside her. "Touya nee?" She called out. "Yes Yumi" I reply. "Am I the last to know?" She asks again. "No Natsuo doesn't know yet and Tou San didn't know till today morning" I reply. Minutes of silence later She asks again "did you forgive Tou San?" To which I hum in response. "That's good" She tells me.

Suddenly Shoto comes in the room and looks at me shocked. "Toko San, what brings you here?" He asks. "It's fine Sho, she knows" I tell him. I gesture fire him to come close, he nods and walks towards me and stands beside me. I put an arm around his shoulders and hold him close to me. We both then wait eagerly for Yumi to finish cooking the soba. We also made small talks while the soba was cooking. To be honest I loved this. But the only thing missing was Nat. Maybe I'll tell him when he comes back from work.

"When is Nat going to return?" I ask Yumi. She lifts up two fingers as response. "Two hours?" I ask. Yumi sighs and replies "No, two days." Oh, so I had to wait two days to see him again. What a drag. "Touya nee are you going to be staying here?" Sho asks me. "Just for today" I reply. He nods acknowledgingly. We then eat in silence.

After dinner I and Shoto sit on the couch, making small conversations. When Yumi came in after cleaning up the kitchen and taking some food for Tou San,she sits between me and Shoto. "How is endeavor?" Shoto asked which annoyed me. Not because he was worried about Tou San but because of how he has addressed him. I turn to Yumi and she also had a hurt expression but didn't want to say anything. She opened her mouth to answer which I interrupt and say "Sho, I get that you don't like him, but don't forget that he is your father. You don't have to forgive him but at least give him a chance."

Yumi looks at me gratefully while Sho looked at me with pure confusion. "I thought that you hated him?" He asks me. "I did, but I can see that he's trying to change and I wanted to give him a chance, maybe you should too" I tell him. He thinks for a moment and finally agrees.

This was good. Now the only problem left was Natsuo and I'm sure that to get him to forgive Tou San I will have to reveal myself. We were only a few steps away from being a happy family. And at last there was mom. I had to bring her home. But that's all for another day. I smile at my triumph. I was finally going to have a normal family.

Hours later we all go to bed and just as I hit the mattress I fell asleep.
