Touya pov

I have been the number one hero for a while now and my schedule has been pretty hectic, especially since Shigaraki decided to launch random attacks without any warning.

I don't even get time to visit Kei. So once this is over, not only will I have to deal with mom and yumi's nagging about over working, I will also have to deal with a fussy birdie. Not that I'm not used to it but it's annoying to say the least.

That's when I got a call from the control room. There is a chance of a break in at the jail. It was obvious that they were trying to break out Toga so I immediately rushed there.

When I got there there was no one there. No break in, No people, most importantly Toga was still in her cell.

"I'm useless. They won't take the risk to break me out." She said, her voice melancholic.

"I'm pretty sure Shigaraki took a liking to you. I mean you always made his plans easier with that work of yours making it easy to frame others" I replied, I felt the anger and hater rise within me.

"I was just a mere tool. We all are" She stated as is it was a well known fact.

"That's funny coming from you after all you did" my voice got louder as my anger increased "Do you know how miserable you made my life there? Do you even feel a bit of remorse for any of it?"

"You think I wanted to?" She asked with a scoff "I never enjoyed hurting you. But he'd hurt me even more if I didn't!" She retorted.

"W...What did you say?" I was shocked. I never expected something like that.

"At first he'd tell me to keep it a secret... every time he hurt me. It was during the time you and me were close. He didn't like how well you integrated with the others, so...So Shigaraki forced me to hurt you." I could see tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Why...why didn't you say anything? Why didn't you ask for help, Himiko!" I shouted in anger.

"Himiko..." She muttered to herself "You finally called me that again" She smiles that pitiful smile she used to have when we first met. I felt my heart being squeezed and tears filling my eyes

"Please...Please tell me why you kept silent while you suffered" I felt my heart being squeezed and tears filling my eyes as I pleaded for her to tell me.

"Because he always closely monitored me. Every single move of mine was being watched. I-"

"So you just let him play with you like that? You just let him hurt you?" I yelled in frustration. Fuck... If only I've known this.

She stared at the cell floor silently as she let her tears flow freely. She pulled her knees upto her chest and buried her face in.

Fuck... I messed up again

I called the security team and asked them to open her cell. Though they protested at first, they finally gave in. After I threatened them a little of course.

After the cell door opened, I entered and sat beside her with my hand resting on her knee. We sat in that comfortable silence for a bit before she looked up at me.

"Will you forgive me?" For once, her voice sounded like that of a little child's.

"It's hard to forget those times. And to be honest, I despised you for it. But now... after hearing the truth forgiveness seems more of a possibility" I replied as I slowly guided her head to rest on my shoulder. "You're safe...Himiko. I'll protect you from now onwards."
