"looks like a girl but she's a flame, so bright she can burn your eyes, better look the other way. You can try but you'll never forget her name"

~A. KEYS

IT WAS THURSDAY evening and I was just returning from my doctor's appointment, according to her, I was doing fine and there was no cause of alarm and I believed that was until I walked past the icecream shop I had seen Tynan and his friends few days ago and I thought; how nice would it be if we met again.

Stupid, I know but I don't think I'm the type that easily get burned by harsh words because if I was, I wouldn't be so eager to see Tynan, so stupid me decided to cross the road to the shop. The problem was when I crossed the road and opened the door to the shop, I slammed into a rock-hard chest and fell on my butt.

Thank God I was wearing pants.

"You should've watched where you were goin', bitch" the man I slammed into said. I moaned in pain as my head started throbbing
"The fuck! I didn't even hit you that hard and you're bleeding?"

I frowned when my hand reached my nose and I felt wetness, blood. My mouth soon turned bitter from the metallic taste of blood, I'm not surprised because it's something that comes with aplastic anemia but the pain that comes with it is a bit overwhelming.

"You bumped into me, you saw me coming through the glass" I said, my while trying to clean the blood with my jacket but it wasn't really working. I spat the little blood that pooled in my mouth but almost immediately, I could feel it again in my mouth.

"I didn't fucking see you because my head was down when I opened the freaking door. You saw me, you could've moved back"

I groaned in pain and glared at the man. "Well, forgive me for not se—"

"Delia?"

I paused and slowly turned back to see Dax and Zayn, Tynan's friends. The two stood with wide eyes scanning my face, jacket and suddenly, Zayn charged towards the man.

"You fucker! How dare you hit a girl?" Zayn bellowed, fisting the man's shirt. Zayn is almost an inch taller than the man but the man is a lot bigger so any idea that Zayn could win a fight with this man dissipated immediately.

"I didn't fucking hit her" the man yelled, pushing Zayn away from him. "Ask the bitch"

Dax and Zayn looked at me and I nodded in affirmation. The man glared at us as he stormed off. Dax turned to me and removed my hands from nose which was unsurprisingly still bleeding.

"Are you sure you didn't get punched because your face is showing something else" Dax asked. I nodded, unable to talk because of the blooding from my gums which has pooled in my mouth.

"Why aren't you speaking?" Zayn asked, cupping my chin to inspect my face, I froze simply because no other guy other than Bennett and my dad has ever touched me. "Are you okay?"

"We should get you cleaned up, you can't go home this way" Dax said. "Uncle Bob restaurant is just around the corner, you can get cleaned up there, is that okay with you?"

I don't know who uncle Bob is and I don't know if it's foolishness or stupidity but whatever it was, I trusted this guys so I nodded, eager to get myself clean and not look like a bloody cow.

"Let's go then" Zayn said, leading the way while Dax and I followed him.

"Here, hold your nose up with this"  Dax said, handing me a black handkerchief. I nodded a thanks and collected it, replacing my hand with it.

Truly, the shop was around the corner and we arrived in no time. The restaurant looks like one from the 90s, and from the outside I could see how homey the restaurant is, the furnitures are unique in a certain strange way.
