Chapter 12

MABEL ESTHER

"Alright, this is your new home." I bow to the family and shake their hands, "over the next few weeks, you will have to do some training with their Gamma and figure out life here."

The elders nod, "Thank you, Alpha." The female smiles.

"This is a rare occurrence, but as you know this is how rogues are. It will take adjustment and time for you to fully grasp being in pack life, but I have trust in you to behave yourselves." I look to the pup sitting in his mother's lap, "You will make friends go to school, and won't be in so much danger."

He laughs, "I can play with other pups."

"Yes, so don't make me come back and take you." I smile lightly, "You all enjoy yourselves here."

Walking out of the Alpha's office, I meet my Gamma and Gamma Yda in the main packhouse living room. They are seated on the couch speaking with the East pack's Beta, the two Alphas missing our discussing the switch for the bastard pup.

I will be called into the discussion in a few minutes, they want to discuss the North Pack laws first before they include me. They're nervous to have me involved and it's not just because I am rogue. My she-wolf status makes the harder for the East to allow me to have a part in this, but I did relocate the pup a few years ago. They have to include me since I was the one to bring the family here.

There was a time last night when I felt weak and I couldn't bear to think about it. I let myself fall from where I was standing, there wasn't a need for any lust. My feelings and my emotions from not having a mate clouded my judgment, I knew it could happen.

Wolves are strange creatures, and their status quo and the human hierarchy play is into monsters, To normal humans we are either a bump in the night or a superhero. We keep to ourselves and survive as best we can, but our minds trick us into the worst scenarios possible.

My blood lust for my unfaithful mate got me here, to raise his bastard pup as mine own for land. I should have walked away and I should have deemed him dead anyway, but that lust for death took me over.

"Alpha Mabel?" I am called to the discussion, "Come here, please."

The room is set up like a conference room when I arrive, a long table stands in the middle with chairs sitting around it. Two giant windows are perimotering the room while two guards plague the outside doors to the room. The Alphas are sitting on the end of the table while an open seat waits for me, I choose to stand at the opposite end.

"What process needs to come from me?" I ask the males.

Alpha Ryden looks at Alpha John from the East pack, they communicate with their eyes. My fingers tap on the table and they look up to see me with raised brows.

"Do you want to share with the class?" Alpha John opens his mouth to speak but shuts it quickly.

Alpha Ryden says, "There were some discrepancies for the pup."

"Take a look." He slides a file over to me and I open it to the third page, "you can see that the missing date is different from the relocation date."

Alpha Ryden and I wrote this up before we left, so he knows that is fake. The only way we could even get this far was because there was a discrepancy in the first place.

"I don't see the issue." I look at Alpha John, "everything looks correct to me."

He grimaces, "it seems odd to me that he was relocated before he went missing."
