Ratigan
Knock! knock! knock! knock! knock! knock! The consistently knocking at the entrance of his lair was enough for Ratigan to rise from his bed and stomp towards the door, miffed at whoever was knocking at this time of night. Whoever was deciding to wake him up was obviously going to become a midnight snack for Felicia.
He got to the entrance and was about to confront the knocker but what he saw surprised him.
A young mouse woman stood there, soaking wet . She was wiping water away from her face while trying to see him properly.
"oh, Evening sir, terribly sorry to bother you at this time of night but I was hoping that you could possibly hold something for safekeeping for me until I come back from an errand" The mouse woman said, holding what seemed like a box. Ratigan stared silently for a few moments, this woman obviously wasn't from around here if she was asking to entrust him with this. He then out on his usual devilishly charming grin, "of course, my dear, whatever this is, it will be in perfectly safe keeping" Ratigan swiftly took the box from her hands and shook it slightly, thinking it could be something valuable. "DON'T SHAKE IT!" The woman freaked at this, causing Ratigan to stumble and almost drop the box. "why not?" the large rat asked.
"it's.......um........fragile" the woman said, she seemed hesitant at leaving as she stared at the box for a moment before leaving fully in a hurry.
Ratigan shut the door before taking the box and opening it instantly, he was expecting an expensive article of clothing or jewelry but instead, he found what appeared to be a baby rat nestled into a bed of blankets and soft pillows. A note was stuffed in there too, it said "I apologize that I had to trick you but I can't raise her myself, me and my husband have too many children already, her name is Harper" Ratigan only stood there, holding the box and staring down at the infant, thinking to himself silently in the dark.
Chernabog
Chernabog stared in silence down at the stony dark egg that was recently produced by the now dead woman who used to be one of his devoted followers, enough to eagerly and happily bear his child and offered her womb for it. But unfortunately enough, the egg or hard sac that the child was produced into was too much for the woman and had split her completely open. It's been only 3 nights since that happened.
Chernabog was becoming impatient at this as he wondered if there would be issues because of the child's DNA being half human. He thought that possibly the child inside was asleep or lazy at coming out, he decided to help it along. His fist hit the ground, practically causing an earthquake upon the mountain. The egg shook intensely before becoming still and beginning to crack. Chernabog watched as the egg cracked open to reveal a small, winged creature, wrapped in their own wings as if scared to come out.
Chernabog still didn't say anything as the creature slowly opened their wings, blinking to get used to the little light and darkness around. The creature was female and looking exactly like Chernabog except she had her mother's human features. The little one looked around in silence before noticing Chernabog and stretching out her wings and limbs.
A half smirk showed up on Chernabog's face as he admired his offspring who only smiled back at him, still attempting to understand her life now since before now, she was simply encased in the egg with nothing around.
Church bells could be heard which made Chernabog lift his head and look towards the rising sun. He turned back to his child and scooped her up in one of his wings, covering them both up to lay dormant until the darkness returned again as the sun rose above them.
