When the kids all meet each other part 3

"Now, Gooseberry and Blueberry bushes are more common than you think in forests like these and perfectly edible, ah, ah, ah, don't eat them though" A young woman with brown hair and dark eyes who was a chaperoning and leading counselor on the nighttime hike warned, seeing a camper reach for the berries as they were walking along a trail that was lit up with lanterns.

"Why not, Miss Aisha?" the camper asked. "well, they're not ours to take and they're not the same as in grocery stores or ones you might grow in your own garden, they could be homes for multiple small organisms and they are food for other woodland creatures around here and part of an ecosystem" Aisha said. "they are edible but there's a time and place for them, now here, we have Oak Trees, these types of trees can grow quite big and live for hundreds of years.........." she continued.

"What's an ecosystem?" Harper asked as she was sitting on Tempest's shoulder to better keep up with the group. "it's something that helps balance out nature, living organisms interacting with each other and helping to keep a flow of energy, smaller herbivores eat plants, berries and insects and the seeds of the plants are in their poop which helps to grow more plants and fertilize the ground for trees to grow and remain healthy, the herbivores are eaten by meat eaters which control the population of them so that they don't destroy the plant life around them and the meat eaters are eaten by bigger ones and the bigger ones often die of natural causes and are continued on through their offspring, their corpse becoming fertilizer for the ground and food for insects that are eaten by small herbivores and the whole cycle just continues again, if something were to happen to a factor or species that's part of an ecosystem, many things will go wrong that will mess up the balance of nature itself and cause problems for the environment, in turn causing problems for everything living in it, including us" Tempest explained.

"wow, didn't know it was that serious" Harper hummed a bit.

Moraika stretched a bit, rubbing her arms as she looks around, it was nice out here. "Hey! um, Moraika, right?" She looked over and saw that boy from dinner jog over to her when he was a way behind her.

"yeah, you're Leo, right?" Moraika couldn't help but smile a bit seeing him.

"yeah, um, nice to finally meet you" Leo chuckled rubbing the back of his neck. Moraika blushed a bit, remembering their first encounter.

"I'm not that clumsy, usually" Leo mentioned quickly. Moraika giggled softly, "that's ok, you make up for it by being cute" She said, making Leo's cheek glow red, almost illuminated in the partial darkness. Moraika ended up blushing as well because of this. Leo began smiling to himself and didn't say anymore at the moment as they continued walking.

"we'll stop for a water break here, now don't go past here and try to stay away if you come across an animal, it's best to leave them be as we are only visiting their territory" Aisha told the group when they came to this nice small field with tall grass and flowers.

The kids began to explore a bit or just sit and take a break and drink water while their counselors watched over them.

Bellona flew up and sat in a tree, looking down at everyone, it felt similair to watching souls fall to their doom into the fiery pits at home but no one was dying, everyone was alive and instead of fiery pits, it was nice dewy meadow lit up by lanterns that had been placed around and the moonlight. She let out a soft sigh, she missed her father, she missed home, she missed nightly activities. Her missing home was interrupted when she spotted a head of red hair by a tree. It was that boy again, the one that wasn't super happy with being here. He had plopped himself against a tree as his cabinmates attempted to get him to enjoy the field a bit but let him be when he didn't budge. Bellona watched as the boy seemed to still have a rough time with being away from home.
