So I know I don't usually make an author's note at the beginning of the chapter, but today's a special occasion. WE'VE REACHED OUR TENTH CHAPTER!

Anyways, enjoy this special chapter!

Arthur Leywin

I watched as Jayden clashed with the examiner. After my stunning fight against Kaspian, it was Jayden's turn to get tested. Unfortunately, he wasn't good enough to fight Kaspian.

I re-focused my gaze on the battle. Jayden was throwing cyclones at the examiner and managed to knock him down.

"Hahaha!" Laughing, he got up from the ground.

"You show spirit, kid!... All things considered, B-class!"

Everyone including me started showering him with applause.

Jayden joined us as we walked to the main lobby to pick up our cards. On the way, we discussed what our first mission was.

I picked up a flyer from the urgent board. The flyer requested help to map out a new B-class dungeon called Ivy's Vault.

"How about this?"

Jasmine thought about it for a minute before agreeing.

"It's only B-class, so we shouldn't have much problem, considering our ranks."

Jayden showed excitement in his eyes. An excitement I haven't seen in a while. I knew this was exactly what he needed, after being trapped inside for a while.

I smirked and dragged him outside.

It's been a day since we set off on our journey, and Jasmine says we should be seeing the dungeon soon.

Speak of the devil!

The tip of the dungeon started peeking through the trees as Jasmine stopped walking

She looked at the map one last time before turning to us and motioning us inside.

I cut the branches blocking the doorway and they fell to the ground.

"You're not using your magic?" Jayden questioned.

"I want to hide the fact that I'm a mage for now."

"Oh. Well unlike you, I don't have the skill to do that."

Jayden unsheathed his pine-green translucent blade and swung it a bit, cutting some of the vines on the wall. I don't know all the details but he told me that while I was searching for Dawn's Ballad, he found this blade impaled in a serpent-like creature. There were traces of a tough battle, however, there was no body to be found.

I tried to help him name it but he turned down all of my names, saying that I was "a bad namer."

My names aren't that bad! Sure, some of my moves sound weird, but a bit of them are decent. Like, how can "Frost of the Gods" be a cringe name?

Anyways, as we descended the slope, the ground slowly started changing into grass.

Are dungeons supposed to act like this?

Soon, we reached a small clear area, surrounded by a purple crystal.

"Woahh! They're beautiful!" Jayden gasped.

Why aren't there any beasts?

Something felt wrong. Instead of these beautiful crystals, there should be a hoard of mana beasts. Why are there crystals here?
