Jake's POV:
I said Sunghoon that I'll listen to what he has to say..but was I even ready? I don't care anymore..I need to know..but what if I soften to him? what if I let my guard down? I can't do that..all these thoughts were going through my mind while I was in my class..
"Hey Jake! what's the answer to that question?" Geonu said as he looked through my worksheet for answer but it was empty..
"Wait up..I'll solve it.."
"You don't need to overthink just because you are meeting Ice guy ok? You just need to hear his explaination..you are not going on a war.."
"I know Geonu but I can't help it..I'm afraid I'll let my Guard down.."
"Just trust your intution Jake.." Daniel said from beside me eyes still on his worksheet..
I was so rude to his cousin yesterday and here he is supporting me..
"Dan..I owe you an apology.."
he looked at me shocked..
"what for?"
"I was rude to your cousin yesterday.."
"Hey don't worry about that..I completely understand..Just because he's my cousin dosen't mean I'm supposed to always take his side right.."
"Thanks Dan.."
"Hey just keep the thanks and solve the questions already.."
"hehe..sure Geonu.."
After my classes were over It was 4:30 PM..just one and a half hour till I meet Sunghoon..I should be okay..I got out of my flood of thoughts when I saw someone far away and I recognised them..
Sunghoon..and who's that girl? Did he get a girlfriend already?
I was staring at them while I got interrupted..
"jealous?"
"What the hell Geonu? no!"
"You sure don't have a thing for Ice guy?"
"You know I hate him Geonu.."
"Well if you don't consider that past tragedy..then?"
"I didn't think that..and why would I..The tragedy happened anyways.."
"Oh..I thought you did..since you are still staring at them.."
I immediately turned my head towards him and acted like nothing happened..and why was I staring..?I'm just curious..must be it..
I looked somewhere else and caught another sight..
"Hey Geonu..you might wanna see that.."
"What?"
I point at Heeseung hyung talking to a girl..the girl was holding a gift in her hands..I think he was getting another proposal..ofcourse he's the official hearthrob..
"Oh..she's gonna get rejected anyways..but why is he smiling like that.."
"He may accept it..who knows?" I say..
"no..not in front of my eyes- Oh look the girl ran away..ha! I knew he'll reject her.."
"You don't even speak to hyung..how are you gonna tell him your feelings.?"
"Hey..he knows I exist okay..He knows exactly I am here..He looked here once before talking back to the girl.."
"I don't believe you.."
"Belive me when he's my boyfriend then..I'm not loosing..he already took an intrest in me.."
we talked for around half an hour..and now it was 5PM..I just decided I'll go there early..I didn't have anything left to do anyways..I went to the cafe but didn't go inside instead I just sat at a bench beside the cafe..I didn't wanna be awkward sitting without ordering anything..or just sitting for so long in particular..
I was scrolling through my phone when I heard someone call my name..
"Jake hyung?"
I turn towards the voice..
"Oh Ni-ki.." He was standing with two hot chocolates..
"What are you doing here hyung? not going in?"
"Oh no I'm just waiting for someone..I'll go when they arrive.."
"Oh..then mind if I accompany you? I wanted to talk to you anyways.."
"Sure Ni-ki.."
"Here you go..This was for Sunoo but just take it I'll take another.."
"I'm good Ni-ki You don't have to.."
"No..please..I insist.."
"fine..if you say so.."
"So Hyung..how have you been? you look better now.."
"I'm good Ni-ki..I recovered quite quick in Australia.."
"Yeah looks like it..well..Did you meet Sunghoon hyung yet? don't answer if you are uncomfortable or something.. "
"I'm meeting him today..that's why I'm here.."
"Oh so you are finally talking!" His eyes lit up..
"yeah..I'm gonna listen to what he has to say anyways.."
"Hyung..you know..I was kinda angry at you back then when we met you at your university..But when I thought from your point of view..I guess I understand you now.."
"Oh..Thanks.."
"I know I shouldn't disrespect the dead but..mind if I say?"
I looked at him..I guess I need to take in all sorts of explainations..
"Go on.."
"Well, Hyunwoo hyung is not exactly the person you think..I'm telling this cause I saw things with my own eyes.."
"I know him Ni-ki.."
"That's the thing..you don't see a problem with what you think so you believe that whatever you saw was right.."
"I don't understand.."
"That guy Hit Sunghoon hyung and threatened him too.."
"No Ni-ki he didn't..On the day he died they had a fight..he never hit him.."
He looked at me with surprise..Like I didn't know anything..
"Hyung..You don't know half the abuse.."
abuse? He wasn't abused..
"What do you mean?"
"he was physically abused hyung..he will never tell you this..the only one he said this was to Ji-ho Hyung who inturn said Heeseung and Jay hyung..and that's how we knew.."
"That can't be possible Ni-ki..Sunghoon isn't a weakling that'll just take the beatings..remember how he almost hospitalized the guy who bullied Sunoo once.."
"you know how much he loves his Dad right? he'll do anything to keep him happy.."
"I don't understand Ni-ki..just say it directly..what do you mean by that?"
he sighs..contemplating whether to tell me or not..
"His Dad..married Hyeonwoo hyung's mom..does that connect some dots?"
wait..what?
"He never said.."
"he was threatened..not to say..I don't know why I'm even telling you this..Sunghon hyung should be the one..but as much I know him he won't tell you these parts of the story..the one's in which he got hurt.."
This can't possibly be true..
"Ni-ki..you sure aren't lying to me so I forgive him?"
"are you kidding me hyung? is believeing Sunghoon hyung that hard?"
"Yes it is..it's fucking hard believing him..when I hated him for two years.."
"can't blame you..you were completely played..by that-"
"Please Ni-ki..don't tell anything else.."
He's lying..all these can't be true..Hyeonwoo isn't like this..Sunghoon definately planned this all out..
"You still don't believe me do you?"
"I don't know.."
"telling you was my wish..believing me is yours..don't tell Sunghoon hyung I said all of this to you okay.."
"And Hyung..I'm sorry that you had to deal with such things in the past too..it must've took a lot of strength to overcome the grief.."
"Thanks..That felt nice to hear.." I smiled to myself..
I'll just listen to Sunghoon..let's just get this straight..
