"I asked around, someone saw her get stabbed by some gypsy boy a week ago" Isaiah muttered to Tommy and her father. Marianna had awoken lying on the couch wrapped up, now significantly darker outside than it was when she was last awake. Her eyes opened to see Ada sitting in front of her, "oh good, your awake, I've treated that nasty wound of yours properly" she said as Marianna looked down at the much better job on her wound, "thank you" she groaned as she struggled to sit up, before Ada pushed her back down, "no you lay down, let me go fetch you some tea".

Ada hurried off to the kitchen allowing her gaze to focus now on the other people in the room, she saw a worried Isaiah leaning on the wall playing with his fingers trying to distract himself from the situation, causing Marianna to smile to herself. She then turned to see her father and Tommy talking with each other, her now awake presence known as her father walked straight towards her.

"Maria, que estabas pensando (what were you thinking), why didn't tell me you were stabbed" he placed his palm on her cheek, visibly concerned for his daughter, though he masked it well under his anger. "Im sorry papa, I just didn't want you to make act rashly" she responded, as she placed his hand in hers, "im fine, really, it didn't even hurt" she joked trying to make her father feel better. "That doesn't matter, Maria, please be serious, you could have died". "But I didn't, im fine now", Alejandro knew his daughter was stubborn, so there was no point arguing with her. He kissed her forehead as he stood up, "where are you going" she looked concerned as a much darker emotion grew on his face, "home, I just need to think" he responded, though she was unsure about whether or not he was telling the truth she saw no point in arguing with the man, "ok papa, I love you, estar segura (be safe)".

Her father left, Tommy soon following behind, as she ran her hands across her face, drinking the tea Ada had put out for her, looking up realising Isaiah still was standing there. "Either Ada doesn't know how to make tea, or she put something else in this" Marianna chuckled, she was unsure how Isaiah was feeling, she almost felt guilty putting her life in his hands, placing that burden on him, so she tried to joke to ease the lingering tension.

"I would lean towards the latter, Ada makes a strong tea" Isaiah responded walking towards her, he didn't know how to feel, how to respond to the entire situation, as he stood beside her hesitantly. She shuffled upwards to sit up, "you don't need to just stand there, you can sit if you want". There was this strange unfamiliar feeling between the two, neither one knew what it was but they were defiantly not going to be speak about it. As she made room for the boy next to her, she picked up her cup again, staring into it to distract her from the uncomfortable silence.

"Why didn't you tell me you got stabbed" he said, clearly serious, a shift from the jokey one only a few moments earlier. "Well we don't exactly confide in each other" she snorted back, "your fathers right, you could've died", he was clearly angry at the girl for not taking the situation more seriously. "Oh come on you too, it really didn't matter", "until it did, that wound was infected, you could've gotten sick and died", she just shrugged at his statement, "why don't you seem to care for yourself" he really wondered how she was able to just shrug of this near death experience. "Because, because I just don't" she was getting frustrated at his prodding, "why does it even matter, you don't care, you made that abundantly clear". There it was, the unspoken thing between them, though Finn and Marianna had discussed their friendship, and more relevantly how it ended, Isaiah and her had dodged around it time and time again. "What's that suppose to mean" he was angry now as well, though he hadn't apologised he thought she knew that he was sorry, foolishly.

"Oh come on Isaiah, you made it clear that you didn't want to be friends with me", she retorted standing from her seated position "that was five years ago, god, you still think that was real" he yelled frustratedly. "It doesn't matter if you were trying to protect me or not, it still hurt, and in the time ive been back at least Finn apologised", he too was standing up now facing her, both of them getting heated, she turned to face the fire place and sat on the floor placing her hands by the fire. "Im over it now, I just would've appreciated an apology if you did really care about me", her tone now docile, she saw no point in fighting.

She felt the floor creak behind her as Isaiah sat next to her, "im sorry". Finally, what she wanted to hear. "In a way I owe it to you, without you and Finn breaking my little heart, I might've never met my father".  "Yeah im sorry for that too, but that's not what I meant", she turned to face him, as she looked confused. His eyes were deep and wounded just like hers, though his much easier to read, "I should've seen that you were hurting, should've known what that sick bastard was doing to you" he said turning to face away from her.

Without thinking she did something she didn't expect, she placed her hand on his, causing him to turn to face her, as they just looked at each other. Realising what she had done, she quickly took her hand away, jokingly responding "I can't fault you for not knowing, I should've said something, plus if I didn't kill him, I now know I could count on the rest of you to do the job". The two of them laughed, they laughed all night, just like they did when then were kids, Ada even joining in, feeling a sense of real happiness for the first time in a while.

But she should've known, like all things, it wouldn't last.
