Flashback:

"Do you want to get married" Isaiah spoke up as they sat by the cut throwing pebbles, "of course I don't want to marry you, that's disgusting" the young girl responded as she threw her pebble further. "Hey, that's rude, you would be lucky to marry me, and it's not like id marry you either" he huffed at the girl in annoyance, "well good" she too huffed. "What I meant is do you want to get married, ever, to anyone" he emphasised the last part ensuring he didn't mean him and her. "Well I don't know, I guess if I find the right guy, but I'm just fine with you and Finn. You?" "Nah, Im just not the one woman kind of guy" he teased back at her, "you mean you can't get one woman to like you".

Now:

Marianna and Isaiah couldn't sleep neither one of them could, as they lay awake restlessly, their minds couldn't stop racing with thoughts. Isaiah felt a sense of overwhelming regret wash over him, just like before when he let Marianna leave thinking he thought she was pathetic and he couldn't be her friend, but the truth was now more than ever he didn't want to be her friend, he was sick of flirting with other girls, the tension every time they were in each other's proximity, he didn't want to be her friend because he couldn't, he couldn't reduce the feelings he had for her to just friendship, it was so much deeper than that, so much more.

When he heard the door to the room next to him slam, and the sound of Marianna's light feet receding, he knew that this was his last chance, rolling out of bed and putting on a coat, heading out the door.

"Marianna, we need to talk" Isaiah walked purposely as the girl continued to trudge along the garden, clearly unbalanced by her thoughts, "wait up" he yelled out as he continued after her. "Isaiah just go back inside" she grunted, trying to just be alone with her thoughts, as her mind and heart both race.

"No, just wait" he yells as he reaches her and grabs her arm causing her stop and spin around. Both of them panting as they stand still staring at each other. "Marianna, I need-" he almost begs as the girl abruptly interrupts him "no, Isaiah, stop, whatever you're going to say, we can't, just stop". She continues her walking again as she begins speeding her pace trying to catch up with her racing mind.

"Why, marianna, stop, just why" he continues to plea, he thought he might be alone in his feelings, but he at least wanted the opportunity to get them out and lay it to rest. "Because you hurt me" she yelled stopping him, but not herself, "I let you in, and you hurt me, you made me hate myself", "no", "you left me to believe I was worthless", "no", "yes Isaiah, pathetic" they continued back and forth as he continued to yell out no, and she continued to display her hurt.

"No, I went back", he yelled out, louder than ever, Marianna stopping in her path and turning around, staring into Isaiahs eyes, "What?". "I went back, to your house, I thought I could pretend" he stumbled over his words as he looked to the floor, he couldn't bare looking at her, he knew once his eyes met hers his heart would break into a thousand tiny shards. Marianna couldn't control her emotions when she was around Isaiah and she hated it, the way he would make her mad one second and the next laugh, it was like they were kids again.

"I thought I could leave us as friends, but I can't" he blurted out, she continued to walk forward towards Isaiah as he spoke to her, "I could never forgive myself for hurting you, i hate how you make me feel" he grunted in frustration as he turned away running his hands through his hair. "It was easier when you weren't here because I didn't care, I didn't feel anything", finally something she could relate to, she and Isaiah were the same, cut from the same cloth, two lonely kids who were beaten by the blade of reality to not feel, to not allow anyone in.

"I hate how you make me feel" she yelled back in response, as he looked up, just wanting to just touch her, feel her, but he fought against his urges as he fiddled with his hands. "You make me feel, and I don't want to" Marianna stumbled out, "I don't want to loose anything more, I can't loose anything else" she felt tears running down her cheek, the boy opposite her began to turn away, feeling stupid and vulnerable, that all of this yelling and grand speeches was just exposing her again.

She looked to the ground as the tear trickled down her cheek, but he turned right back around, walking towards her, until he couldn't get any closer, and then he grabbed her face in his hands and just kissed her.

Time stopped around them, like every little inch of pain was absolved from their bodies as their kiss grew more passionate, Marianna slinking her hands around Isaiahs neck, Isaiahs wrapping one hand around her waist pulling her even closer as the other held her jaw. She had never felt more bare as she let her walls crumble, panting for air as the kiss finally broke, placing their foreheads on each others, a soft smile creeping on each others faces as they just embraced one another and the moment.
