"Where's your phone?" I raised my brows at Mr. Reynolds. I should at least try calling my phone if by some miracle it's safe and sound. Someone could have caught it which seems nearly impossible or at least found it by now."I think I left mine in the car." He said while checking his pockets. I did see him throwing away his phone on the backseat of his car in frustration.
"I thought I could try calling my phone in case it survived that stroke." I looked around and spotted about half my size unicorn toy at a game stall. I want that.
"I don't think it survived. Sorry for your loss. Could I do something to make you feel better?" He said it so sincerely that I laughed.
I patted his shoulder, "It's alright. You can win me that big unicorn to make me feel a little bit better." I pointed out the game in which you need to throw a dart at the board on the number mentioned on a stuffed toy to win.
"What makes you think I am good at this?" He looked towards the unicorn stuff toy that I just mentioned. Is he thinking that I am such a baby to ask him to win it for me? Nevermind. Well who cares when that cute stuff toy is on the line.
"I have never once seen you miss a throw of paper balls in the dustbin from a good distance and you throw away the cap of your marker to point at something on the board like a pro. So you might as well be good at this as well." I've seen him do this a lot of times even when I go to his office on the pretext of not getting some topic or just giving him the attendance for the day or assignments.
"You notice that? Do you usually keep your eyes on me?" He tilted his head. Nowadays? Always. But not in a stalker-kind of way instead whenever I am around him I unintentionally end up noticing small details when in fact I don't want to. I have no idea how to stop doing that. I remember things he said other than things concerning our course.
He sometimes says random quotes in class which I would scribble down at the back of my notebook. Surely, he doesn't need to know that kind of confidential information.
"Like I said before, you gotta look at the person who's teaching in order to understand better and I happened to see you notice you crumple the paper to throw away as you never tear it apart."
"How about I try winning that snake like thing first?" My eyes sparkled as I spotted the green snake toy. Hell, yeah. I want that. I would like him to win me everything but that wouldn't be good for this business. So yeah, nah.
"That's the spirit." He not only won me that snake and unicorn but also two cute teddy bears that the shop owner side eyed me but I just ignored him and gave Mr. Reynolds a friendly side hug for winning all the stuff toys for me.
I saw a girl staring at my teddy bears so I asked Mr. Reynolds to hand one of them to the little girl. She jumped up with excitement when Mr. Reynolds told her that he won it for her. She kissed him on the cheek and then waved at me. She looked so happy and showed the teddy bear to her dad.
"Thank you, mister. You are a good guy. Can you please date my sister?" I was shocked to hear such a little girl say that. Although I know how kids could be these days. They will say anything without a filter and act like it's no big deal. "She has terrible taste in guys so I am hoping to fix that."
Mr. Reynolds wouldn't take it seriously. In the meanwhile, to distract myself, I put the snake toy around my neck for fun.
"I'm sorry, baby. I already have someone in my mind." Mr. Reynolds said casually which is something I did not expect at all. He ruffled the little girl's hair, leaving her a giggling mess. I waved my hands at her as goodbye and then we proceeded towards the well of the bewitched. But all the time I kept thinking about what he just told her.
