“Typically, muscle soreness fades within about six weeks. Since, he hasn’t suffered major injuries so he'll be fine. I have taken a look at his X-rays and they seemed pretty good,” The doctor adjusted his glasses as he looked at Mr. Reynolds reports on his computer. “Although we still need to take a look at his CT scan results.”

After I made sure Mr. Reynolds’ all other tests—other than CT scan whose result isn't out yet but we’ll get it soon—were alright with non-severe injuries and they will keep him for observation for some time, I thanked the doctor wholeheartedly.

He needs to take rest for now. When I pulled open the door to his hospital room, he was sitting on a hospital bed with an IV attached to his wrist and a few wires leading to a heart monitor. His face instantly lit up upon seeing me, “Where have you been? I was waiting for you. Did the nurse not inform you that I was asking for you?” He expressed as his gaze traveled the length of me.

He asked that nurse to call me? Isn't it obvious that she would never pass on that information considering her interest in him.

He tried to get up but I stopped him as I reached his side. “Take some rest. I was getting my hand bandaged.” I showed it to him as I took a seat on the chair beside his bed.

“You shouldn’t have tried that hard to open the car door. You got hurt in the process.” He said taking my hand in his to have a closer look. It was a simple act of checking up the bandage but enough to spike up my heartbeat that I wondered if he could hear it too.

He did the unthinkable. He placed his gorgeous lips on my hand & kissed my bandaged hand tenderly.

Thud.
Thud.
Thud.

Only for him. My heartbeat only spikes up when he is closer. No one had this effect on me before.

I was thankful that it wasn’t me with her heart rate showcasing on a monitor or otherwise he would instantly get to know the effect he has on me.

I took my hand out of his hold and stretched it behind my chair. Can’t let him see the effect he has on me. I don't think it's a crush anymore. It’s something far greater than that. I not only care about him but I want him in an entirely different kind of way. Like for a lifetime.

“I would do it again in a heartbeat. And you stay clear of trucks. You see a giant vehicle making its way towards you, you drive fast. I don’t care if you end up getting a speeding ticket. Is that clear?” I questioned, raising my eyebrow, determined to sway him if he refuses to agree.

He chuckled, “Are you that worried about me?” His eyes literally sparkled and I had the urge to lean forward and cup his face with my good hand. I brushed the thought aside and started to count to three & think about my father’s office painting in order to distract & restrain myself.

I tucked a stray hair away with the back of my hand before saying, “Obviously, I care about you. And I think you should spend at least two weeks here to make sure you recover well. Don’t even think about coming to the college in your condition in case you get discharged early,

“Although I doubt the number of people you've recently added to your fan club... would allow that.” I muttered the last part under my breath.

“Fan club?” He appeared perplexed, “What are you talking about? Is it about the Instagram thing you showed me in the morning? I’ll report that account like I said.” He smiled oddly, shaking his head.

“I'm talking about the doctors, nurses and patients.” The words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them.

“What?!” He seemed genuinely shocked.
